So, does anyone have any comments on these? It seems the logical choice for my needs. I have learnt elsewhere that earlier ones had a blower fan rather than a sucker, so clogged the inside of the rad with debris, but I don’t know when this was changed. Other than that, it seems they’ve been churning them out for long enough, and I’ve not heard anything really bad said about them.

Does anyone know about changes to engines? I suspect there’s been a few over the years, and I want to avoid any emissions tech, so what year should I be looking at?

Thanks

If you can stretch to a 525-50 they have considerably more leg room and not really much bigger and much better access
Other than that there was a long thread on one of the farm forums about the reduction hubs being a week point if not serviced regularly new gears are a fortune and there is no second hand supply due to this

Good little machine, no room around them for working, but capable and versatile

What man as done, man can do, what never has, maybe
I’ve had my eye out for one for a bit now seem to make strong money for the bit of use I have for one, maybe have to keep the buggiscopic for a bit longer

RE the access, I thought the 520-40 had the better cab access as it has a full length door, where the 525-50 was like the 520-50 with the small door, and you climb over the side and then down into the cab?

Ah yes your right sorry I got the 2 confused maybe it's the 525 with the hub reduction problems then
I will try and find the farming forum thread

As for the 520 40 I have spent more time one of them and can say they are awesome little machines punch well above there weight the swl system is not to interfering
Only problem is the lack of a split door they get very hot in summer
