Hyundai R27Z-9 Partnering a Rototilt R1 Direct+S40 ICSB Control System

Recent installation carried out a couple of months ago for A F Theobald & Son Ltd over near Chelmsford, Essex. Invested in our Rototilt R1. The Hyundai has servo valve assisted foot pedal which made the installation a whole lot easier and possible. Customer opted for direct mount, with no integral grapple but beauty of this he can always add integral grapple as a retro fit at a later date. We supplied out Rototilt bucket package to include Grading bucket. Customer very pleased with the purchase and is really pleased how the concept has changed his way of thinking and how he looks at jobs.

Seeing the grinding marks in the bucket pins I'm guessing it was a bit tight. I've found that some attachments my Engcon will pick up no problem dont quite allow the rototilt to lock on properly. Also having the fittings for the gripper permanently on there ment I had to adjust an attachment with recessed pins which I hadn't realised when I ordered it. I had assummed if it said S40 any S40 hitch would pick it up.
I do like how the hoses are attached so if you need a replacement you don't have to take it half apart like the engcon. Also I haven't yet come across any custom pipe fittings which are a pain.
I have what looks like an older model of the R1 (I'm going in today so will see if there is a serila number I can find). How much does a gripper for it cost and what does it weigh? I'm guessing it just connects into the holes the auxilary couplers are currently on.

On the smaller units a thick coat of paint is all it can take to hold them back from closing properly. Once on and of a few times all is fine.
You have a RT10 Graham, model before the R1.. which was only launched last year. You can add a gripper to it anytime as the fittings are all there, it is piped through the auxiliary fittings you talk about on the back.

You are right, I checked earlier, it is an RT10, manufactured 2016.
To be honest I was just being nosey as to the weight and cost. It would be nice to have, but I have higher priorities for my money at present.

36kg the smallest gripper, list price is quite high.... but always a deal to be done

Bit of paint can stop the engcon from releasing same make buckets too. I found if i roll the switch to the right and then straight across to the left the mechanism seems to have a little extra inertia, enough to get it to release, on the rare occasion when it decides it doesn't want to play.

Wet sand in the springs doesn’t help release either.

Graham, no mate that's just the paint on the pins, nothing tight there, we like to paint everything. S-Standard couplers will pick up any other tiltrotator manufacturer's buckets or attachments as long as it's compatible. If you have an older model it's likely to be our RT10 - Grapple/Gripper costs around £2,700.00 (Model G400) it weighs 36Kg. If you have the RT10 you will have a Extra 1 proportional valve on your tiltrotator body - the Grapple plumbs into this port.

I don't disagree with you but that's the list price cost. I am sure there is always a deal to be done talk to your local supplying dealer dependent on where your located in the Country. Choice is down to your own preference to which product model you prefer to invest in , our integral grapple or grab attachment.

Thanks for the price. Even with a good discount I think I would probably get a forestry grab for half the price.
Would be nice to always have it when needed, but the extra weight all the time is a downside on a little machine.

The G400 grapple on the R1 is 36Kgs. I appreciate you can buy a grabs for a lot less than the integral grapple, again it's down to ones preference on what suits their needs best. Glad I could be of assistance, gives a shout if you need anything else, cheers Tom
