Hydraulic quick hitch

Gents, been to a machine today with a hydraulic quick hitch, customer wants a new one that’s double locking, I am going to supply a new Geith hitch.
Now his old hitch has 3 hoses, I’ve never seen this set up before?
I am guessing, one to open hitch, one to close and one to keep a constant pressure on hitch to keep closed.
Would I be able just to blank the 3rd hose off or better replace the hitch solenoid block

It could well be, I’ve not seen the machine for a long time. And as usual it’s no handy to get at.
Do you recognise the brand of hitch?

Pretty sure its an american make looking at the symbol.... not sure which though

looks like an old Hill .... is the third pipe feeding to a secondary ram and returning through it ? are there actually three pipes up the boom to the valve ?
think I'd be putting a new QH valve block on to suit the new hitch

Why would you over complicate the job with a three line system? When everyone else can do a twin lock hitch with two lines and one button? I know most intergrated systems will be a select and confirm system on the buttons, so you’ve got to press two, but that’s different.
I can’t for the life of me see why you’d choose that hitch? Personally I don’t like the look of the hitch, but that’s beside the point, 3 lines is unnecessary surely?

So assuming the third line on the one in the vid is for releasing the “knuckle” as they call it, then why has the hitch @wee_gus is looking at got three lines if it’s not a twin lock?

I’d price the guy a worst case scenario of a complete new system, and if you can make it work on the old one and happy to put your name to the job then you can leave it, save yourself the hassle and the time, and the client a few pounds, but that’s your call......
Two of the lines must be hitch operation, ie attach and release, swapping supply and return as all normal two line hitches will, and presumably the third is simple a safety release of some sort? So assume it can be blanked off at the valve and the third line removed? Or blank it both ends and leave it installed in case there is ever the need to add a drain line to the machine?

Yea I agree wank idea like! First I’ve seen of it!

Geith coming in at best Price of hitch & kit at £1320+vat
Think this will be the way to go! At least I can use the existing hose feeds to solenoid valve
