I had ago on one.. horrible thing to dig with, dealer said it was because I wasn’t used to the electro/hydro controls, but I had them on my last 3cx and I could make that thing sing!!

To be fair french cars have always been a bit fragile. Specialist machine with a Specialist price tag and probably no better at digging a hole than something half the price.
have had a LOT of Renaults over the years and were always an excellent car

now I know dealers in general are fecking useless at returning calls, but are JCB dealers the bottom of the barrell ?

You'd think they would want to be shifting some stock in the current market.....

No they are not the worst ime. But one bad egg can spoil the omelette!
If you are dissatisfied with the service and response from your dealer, then call JCB hq, they take a dim view of dealers not treating customers fairly.

Just wanted to add, if anyone is interested in trying a Mecalac, we have 9MWR and 11MWR demo machines in the UK at the moment which we are keen to get as many people on as possible. We do also have an 8MCR tracked machine too. Best way to get me would be on my work number 07534 926439

A Mecalac can't be thought of as just a digging tool, they have to be considered as a complete package for lifting, handling (forks), loading (loader bucket) and the tool carrier as the independant hydraulic system makes running flail heads etc and driving the machine seemless.

@V8Druid - Graham, the machine we had there that day was the 11MWR, so the biggest of the 'compact' range of ducks that we have.

Send me down a tracked one for a decade long free trial..... I can't afford to buy one but there a awesome tool and I can put the durability stamp on it 😂

Not sure we can quite stretch to that unfortuantely, but you are welcome to come and have a play for a day at our demo ground or speak to a dealer and we could get it down to you for a week. This year we have a 4in1 bucket on our 8MCR and that really makes the machine come alive!

We are in a fortunate situation to have 2 ducks at the moment, going forward it is likely we will only have 2 demo units, one on wheels and one on tracks, but Covid put pay to getting our 2019 11MWR sold so its still here.
