Honda GXV120 HP400 power carrier rocker cover vent

Can anyone help me with a question about the vent hose that links the valve/rocker cover with the air cleaner housing?

I have a Honda HP400. It has a GXV120 (n1) engine. I bought it used. It’s pretty old, but in very good nick. I snapped the connector on the air cleaner box for the valve cover vent hose. It’s discontinued now.

Oddly, the owner’s manual shows the N2 version of the engine which has no vent or vent hose from the valve cover. I have a replacement air cleaner box, but it has no connector for the valve/rocker hose. Would it matter if simply don’t connect the hose to the air cleaner box? Maybe coil It up and cable-tie it out of the way?

Would it matter - no, not a lot.
But if you do that, put a small fuel filter on the line because the engine will pump air in and out and it's best to keep the dust out.

Personally, I'd drill a small hole on the air box and press/screw a barb into it and connect the hose.

yep - it's only to recycle the crank case breathing fumes - as said - don't just leave it open to atmosphere, without some form of filtration (which the air box provided originally) .. or just do as Gecko suggests and connect it as it should be
