Evening everyone, found this forum when I was looking into augers for my digger, seemed a sensible place to sign up to. Recognise a few names from Arbtalk, been on there 10 years now๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ‘
I'm a landscaper from Hertfordshire, 1 man band, built up a range of machines together. Currently have a case cx15, yanmar sv08, slanetrac 1 ton tracked dumper, Fronteir sawmill, tunnisen ts190 chipper, muck truck, Chinese wheeled loader for the yard and a few other bits.
I've got a used Giant sk201d skidsteer coming this week, really looking forward to that๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿคž
By pure luck both diggers, and my old kx36-3 take the same fitment buckets so I've got loads! I'm planning on making an adapter plate up so the giant will take the same auger, maybe even the tilting grading beam.
Can't see any more new machines in the near future, certainly not on finance, so it's going to be new attachments and mechanical improvements next year....
Cheers all๐Ÿ‘

Hello mate good to see you!

Yes I had the same thing with buckets, ended up set with all at 125 centres 120mm wide!

I took the pee out of you enough for the Chinese loader on Arb talk so I wonโ€™t do it here ๐Ÿคฃ

I really liked the look of the giant when I was looking prior to buying the Sherpa, what did it cost you?

Know what you mean about finance. It was a mad decade. The only reason I have so many new machines is that the finance was so cheap.

Cheers, looks another useful forum๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

The loader has not been my best decision, but I wouldn't want to be without it now...

The giant was 12k Inc vat, with 1 normal bucket. Its done a fair few hours, but you really wouldn't know in terms of looks, play, noises etc. Sold, maintained then taken back in part ex by the original supplier so its a pretty decent history. Seems a really robust machine and I've got 3 jobs lined up for it already ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Definitely been a case of buying new made the most sense the last couple of years, but when I got a finance quote for a sherpa last month it was a bit of a shock! To be honest it's my own fault, I should have cracked on and sold big tractor last year, I'd have got more money for it and a better finance deal for the balance, but there we are.
Which is why I looked at the giant, liked what I saw, did the deal๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

How much was the Sherpa and was it one of the new models?

Same as yours, I can't remember off the top of my head, especially as I had a couple of different packages quoted for.
What I do know is that it came out as far more than I was prepared to pay, both monthly and as a total interest payment on top of the machines price.๐Ÿ˜ณ

Like I say, I should have dealt with it over a year ago...

Sadly that just seems to be the case with so much at the minute. Sky high pricing from the dealers and horrendous interest rates on top if your using finance. Good used kit far and few between too. Perhaps a good ole recession might change all that๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคท

I heard that they were selling off the last of those models cheap at APF!

Mine was ยฃ12k plus vat, then the attachments on top, usually around ยฃ700+vat each.

If the Giant is from Kirkland then you'll have no problem with service and spares. They are the main dealers for Antonio Carrarro tractors, and despite mine being twenty years old parts are no trouble within a very reasonable timeframe. Great guys to deal with, and they sent me all the workshop manuals and exploded diagrams via PDF. If I'd have know how good a company they are I'd probably have gone for the Giant skidsteer, but the Sherpa impressed me greatly when I hired one to demo it myself

I kept hearing that, shame I never spoke to them at the APF, didn't really see any great offers after the event. I was more interested in Sany diggers back then, got some prices for them but I decided the investment in that really wasn't right at the moment. But it did mean I got myself into gear selling off the big tractor๐Ÿ‘

I think it was nearer to 14 plus the vat, plus the attachments, which were all nearer to 850 than 7 now๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
