Try and wear a Protos for a couple of hours before buying one - I don’t like them at all tbh. I find them really uncomfortable and ended up going back to Petzl.

When I was in Germany last year they had some helmets that didn’t have chin straps but had a clamp thing that clamped behind your head, then actually looked like them protos ones

I wear My Bose QC35 8-10hrs/day, I have tinnitus and often struggle to hear on my phone, I make/take up to 30 calls a day these have transformed my life especially operating an excavator the noise cancelling is just sheer bliss I have even had call on a 120 roller at full chat I can’t recommend them enough.

im a fan of bose as well. The issue using them at work is a safety as you lose spacial awareness, cant hold a conversation or hear someone shout.

I use daily the hellberg react which allows a normal conversation, hear whats happening around you but stops anything approaching loud. Also has radio which is nice.

bose arent protection. helleburg are same spec to peltors, little bit cheaper.

Got a set of the Sony noise cancelling ear buds, they do make a difference but don't cancel out as much as I thought they would

They look decent, I've just ordered these:

I find it hard to work with a radio on, I find it's mostly crap music or idiots talking and if it is with listening to, I can't concentrate on work! Also not being able to hear what's going on makes me feel uncomfortable so hoping these little earbuds will do the trick.

I wear Bose QC20 for normal excavator work. They have better low end noise reduction than standard ear defenders, masking the engine drone to make it more relaxing operating all day and obviously you can listen to radio/podcasts and speak on the phone. They have a good noise cancelling mike as well which some head-hones don’t have. But, for really load noise such as jets taking off they are not so good as proper ear defenders.
Depends what you need them for. I have both noise cancelling and standard ear defenders available.
The ones you link to do not have a noise reduction rating so you will not be allowed to wear them on big sites. Having tried other makes Bose have by far the best noise cancelling, but they are more expensive than most.

Yeah the ones in the link I posted, upon further investigation, seem a bit naff.

They can be had slightly cheaper than that
There are various franchises that do them moulded to your ear with 5 or 6 different filter options
This link is only for the most basic filter can't work out how to link to the electronic filter

Not seen those I've tried all sorts but always find in ear ones fall out, currently have isotunes ones, they ok but still fall out.
The stihl pro com are awesome, had a 2 way conversation at normal speech level whilst other person was using a diesel wacker plate

I've worn them for the last two days. They're great! It's like the world now has volume controll.

The only thing I don't like is it makes my voice sound weird when I'm taking, the result is I'm paranoid that I'm shouting or mumbling at people - i can't tell which.
