Hi
I was wondering if anyone could help me, I’ve changed the final drive oil, but one of the drain plugs has nearly rounded hex head, while I’ve changed the oil, I’m not to sure how many more times I will be able to get off before it’s completely rounded off.

I’ve searched and emailed quite a few companies but nobody has been able to help, track down the part number or replacement.

Possible options are to weld a nut and continue with it like that, ideally would like to replace it,

Any help would be greatly appreciated 😊

You’ll get nowhere fast without investing in a set of thread gauges mate.

Do that and then have a look through some thread identification charts.

Personally I'd go with a nut welded to it. It's not like it'll devalue it.

Yeah that was the one thing I forgot to do, I thought it would be easy replacement, I was very wrong, I will check again this weekend, you are probably right welded nut would be fine.

is it missing a copper washer ?
looks very much like a BSP socket head plug, but a thread gauge would improve identification, as said but without the inbuilt seal

No copper washer, just standard rubber o-ring, does look a bsp type thread, I do have set of thread gauges, just forgot to check it, didn’t realise it would be a difficult replacement part. I did see similar above, only problem I see, is the threads on the original are 7mm and ones like above 10 to 12mm.

you mean the thread length? - it is possible to get shorter versions but harder to find -- try a plumbing supplier
