Green cross line laser

I’m looking for a green cross line laser that I can use for inside tasks like tiling etc so I want one with telescopic pole to mount it on . I was wondering though is there any that can also work outside that will have a down beam for a centre point so I could mark out a square corner .
Any one have anything they’d recommend that would fit the bill or should I be buying 2 lasers for these tasks ?

DeWalt do 3 axis ones rather than a dot so you would just set the point at which they cross rather than the dot.
Never used one but they seem pretty standard among the chippies regardless of what brand their other tools are

I like the look of dewalt 1 whereby it picks up the receiver. Unsure if available this side of the pond

I prefer the Bosch one to DeWalt a couple guys at work have the DeWalt but the Bosch has 3 axis 360 degrees and I find myself going and digging mine out just for that reason

This is like the one I have
I've no idea what the cost is nowadays, I've had mine for about 10 year and still going. Just needs new batteries every year
Do you use it outside ? If so can you see the lines ok ? I wanted green because I assumed these would be easier to see outside but if this works then it would do me

Have tried it out doors quite a bit but only really any use early in the morning or later on at night, no use in broad daylight. Or mine isn't anyway but it's an old red line one. No idea on the green but they meant to be better

Hi All,

About 10 or 15 years ago we sold thousands of multi-line lasers, but as a company, we are now tending to be more focused on the Groundworks Rotary Lasers and Magnetic Detectors from Fukuda, Topcon and Spectra. As such, we don't have any indoor green beam lasers which would meet your requirements.

However, as a bit of free advice (as if I was doing this myself for my own projects)...

I would probably pick up something like the Dewalt DCE089D1G:
https://amzn.to/45JDIZw

Again, no personal experience with this particular model, but it is a self-levelling green beam laser which gives you a 360-degree horizontal datum and then has two further 360 vertical datums (one running front to back and the other running left to right). This will then allow you to effortlessly set out and square at 90deg. The way the vertical datums cross over one another will also give you an easy datum on both the floor and ceiling as if you were running a plumb line.

If I wanted to work outside with the Laser I would then need to pick up the Dewalt DE0892G Line Detector:
https://amzn.to/3qmNaBP
and this would then give me a range of up to 50m. The Detector can work in both "portrait mode" and landscape mode" enabling you to easily pick up the horizontal and more importantly the vertical datums in sunlight.

As the Dewalt DCE089D1G is a line laser, only the Dewalt DE0892G will work with it. i.e. you can't repurpose an existing Rotary Detector nor can you get a different model with a digital offset mm/ inch display.

I would then pick up something like the Stabila LT 30 Laser Telescopic Support post to mount the laser at varying heights indoors:

Fully extended it is 3.6m so unless you are working in a property with a vaulted ceiling, will always allow you to mount the laser. It also has a significantly smaller footprint than a tripod.

With this package, I then have a multi-line laser to easily set 90degrees as well as the 360 horizontal, a Detector to work outside and a way of positioning the laser at multiple heights.

I am sure there are cheaper options available but this is the sort of package I would buy If doing it myself.

I hope this helps.

Best regards

Just remembered something...I've got a Leica green cross line...brilliant crystal clear line...but...the bracket is utterly shite... litterally cheap plastic with no adjustments.
DeWalt bracket milion times better...
