Generator question

I'm not overly familiar with generators but I've got the option of one. It's an arcgen, 10kva and was fitted to a site cabin.

I'm told it won't start at the moment because it used to be operated from inside the cabin.....I assume its an easy bypass to make them start/run? Or is it more complex than that.

It was running and powering the cabin as it should before it was removed

has been set up with remote start/stop by the sound of it .... some gennies have a plug in facility for remotes .... you might be lucky, otherwise it's just a case of sussing the remote wiring ... can't see it being rocket science

As Druid says...can't be that fancy if only welfare cabin. Often they have manual override anyway..just follow the wires.

As an aside I'd grab it if cheap enough , having a discussion with Genny sales guy who was claiming major shortages apparently the supposed black outs this winter has caused panic buying.

Yeah I'm hoping it's an easy sus.

I've no electricity in the yard (well I have but it's not mine to use) so genny is ideal. And yeah as always I buy stuff when it's in demand .

I'm giving it a look over on Saturday so hopefully the wiring will make some form of sense.

Dyno, I’ve got a 10kva Arcgen with a Yanmar TNE68 engine fitted.

Its the one I’ve been fighting overheating, rust metal work and wiring issues on.

Well I'll admit I got it wrong...it's a genset....only been looking through next doors railings at it for last few weeks lol.

Off to look at it in detail tomorrow

Right, it's a genset mgk 10000 ltl.

Little kubota engine.

The control panel has a plug in which I assume is for the remote start ect. It then has a power cable out from lower down, I assume this went to the cabins fuse board.

So I think it's a case of fit a manual start and then stick a nice big blue socket on the end of the cable. Sounds easy haha
