im looking for a diesel heater for my garage . Its about 36m2 I was looking at the Chinese 5/8kw heaters round the 100 quid mark but the reviews are pretty bad and the garage is attached to the house so I need what I go with to comply with regs.
I've been looking at infrared heaters like the Sealey 13kw (1000 plus vat)or the Nordkapp cube heater .(350 plus vat ) the garage is timber clad so id need to duct out exhaust and id like to know what ducting id need if anyone knows !

any thoughts on the heaters or other options ?

If you are using electric then an Air to Air heat pump might be worth looking at .
If it’s adjacent to the house then can you not tap into house heating ?

House is underfloor heating . I didn’t want to incorporate it in the garage as I want a fairly instant heat for short periods . I’d rather use diesel than electric although i know electric would be cleaner but I’d be needing it when the temp is very low so I assumed a heat pump would be very expensive to run 🤷‍♂️

Air to air will be about the same running cost as diesel heater give or take .

Depending on what boiler you have in house you could run an extra zone into garage and use a wall mounted water to air blower unit .. they work very well.

I was considering the vevor 8kw diesel . I know they are Chinese but they have very good reviews

There is an entire Facebook page dedicated to Chinese diesel heaters. Lots of people having a lot of good experiences with them so might be worth checking it out for the exact models.

all out of stock on their website Vin ... look like the ying tong I bought recently - not had a go at it yet but will shortly and post opinions ... 99.9% of Vevor is ying tong anyway .... but as said elsewhere .. have had a bit of their stuff and not been dissatisfied

Can't see how that would comply with regs?

My current favourite YouTuber... M.boernstrom has fitted one and modded it to run off a 20L tank. Used approx 0.5L of diesel per hour iirc.

its a bit of a grey area . its sold as for use in a garage , therefore I assume it must have relevant certs for use in uk id of thought ? it would then be up to me to ensure the flue/exhaust complies

the garage is at far end from plant room where the heat pump and manifold is . air to air mist be worth looking at though , I've not heard of that

having had mine apart to repair the delivery damage -- there ain't much to it and the fuel is delivered by bit of 6mm pipe from the tank in the unit's case, so'd be easy enough to feed it from anything you like, I'd have thought, plus it's fed by a pulse pump

That's my point...didn't seem particularly cheap...
Say 60p an hour? That would run a 2kw leccy heater !
Yes but a 2kw electric heater is about 25% of the output of a 8kw Chinese diesel heater! Also they will run on Kero (I think) and Red Derv.

But if I`m parked up 200 miles from home, it would need one hell of an extension lead. :ROFLMAO:
In the truck it will generally run hard for 10-20 minutes, then drops to a tick over almost, to maintain the heat, and turns off if needed. I think they are 2 or 2.2kw and about 500ml an hour flat out, and about 120ml per hour to maintain, I would say about 2 quid if it was on all night

I probably misunderstood...was meaning as a permanent heater in a garage that meets regs.
