Ec15 leaking

Afternoon All
Santa is fetching me a new toy for Xmas it’s a 2004 ec15

Quite a tidy machine really but has a small leak under the floor, believed to be coming from the valve block, is there any common places to check or is it just a matter of cleaning down and watching?
Secondly is 46 grade oil best to stick with in uk climate?
Thirdly if the seals are gone in the valve block is it better to buy certain seals if so where from or are they just orings?

Quite new to digger hydraulics if any of the questions seem daft

Hopefully it’ll just be a loose connection or rubbed hose under the floor.

You’ll have to clean it thoroughly, ideally with a steam cleaner, and then watch for a leak when you run it. Remove all the side plates and base plate if there is one to make it easier for the water to run out when you clean it- possibly jack the machine up with the boom so there’s a good angle to drain it.

this is what's under the floor of the last EC15 I looked at .... plenty of places to have a leak from - apart from what's under the carriage too .. good luck - as said getting the beast clean will help dramatically

Could be like anything and no point thinking to deep til you get the floor panels off. As @doobin said a good wash and look for the leak.
We'll help and advise you when you know more

Brilliant, thank you for the replies it’s much appreciated, il get it home and clean and report back, wasn’t sure if there was a common issue or not with these, but I’ll keep you all updated.

When looking for leaks if it's covered in oily dust it's usually beneath the leak where the leak is will be clean hydraulic oil. Have the floor pans off and have a good look while it's running they usually make themselves obvious

Morning gents

Hope you all had a good Xmas!
Managed to pick up the machine yesterday morning had a look at it today couldn’t see anything obvious at first glance however most of the damp appeared to be under the valve block towards the centre of the machine. Had a good dig around and found a couple of loose screws on the side where the access panel is so I stripped that bit off didn’t have the correct size o ring so I’ve noted the size and put it back together, don’t seem to have any leaks at the moment. I’ve washed it down just goner let it dry and check again later! Fingers crossed.

I also noticed this and believe this should plug in, is there any reason this wouldn’t be plugged in?
I noticed it unplugged on v8druids photo also

That was before I washed it , noticed the loose part and didn’t want to pour water on to get in to the hydraulics.

not my machine that .. friend's down the road .....
that valve is, I believe, the servo pressure reg./distributor ... that MIGHT be the dead man servo solenoid?? but looks more like a pressure switch to me, TBH ... quite what for though, I've no idea -- Aiden @CPS ????

Cheers gents much appreciated, it’s all up and running now think I’ve sorted the leak, have a slight seep from a new hose that’s been fitted so I’ll nip that in the morning, might plug it in and see what it does

Well the leak has showed its head again, getting slightly worse now, definitely from the valve block and now a seeping ram aswell, any recommendations on suppliers to use to get seals from?

Are they specific or will local hydraulic place stock them on the shelf?

I’d like to be able to strip and rebuild it quite quick.
