Dumper Paint Code

I am new to this group and would be grateful of some information. I am currently repainting my BENFORD TEREX dumper and would like to use a two pack paint which is much harder and more durable than synthetic. Can anyone provide me with the RAL paint codes for Benford yellow and Terex grey and white.

I bought some Blackfriars brand yellow paint.
I certainly would not recommend it, the coverage was awful. Very poor.

yellow can be very difficult to get a cover with, without multiple coats .... Blackfriars is normally very good paint ... a lot of the problem with any paints these days is the move away from solvent bases to water based ... HTF does that work???

We've been using MJ supplies for paint on general steelworks through the Graco sprayer but I'm not overly enamoured with it lately either. Used to be able to lash in on and it covered and dried before you could blink. It still dries quick but the coverage and look of it is dire

gone to water base, has it Mike?
most of it is pure shite
's why I continue with Firwood stuff .. nearly all still solvent based, as is a lot of the Floor/Paintmaster product

I think even firwood is a pain to order from nowadays, we were getting from them but the service was poor and gave up on them

I'm shocked ..... used them for well in excess of a decade, maybe more and only ever had one problem with them ... opened a 20 of HBZP grey oxide, stirred it with the stirrer in the drill and was like water. Opened another .. same problem .. rang them and we had two replacements the following morning ... rep turned up a couple of days later full of apologies ... they'd had a duff batch that'd been wrongly mixed/missing pigments, etc. and we weren't alone - 1000 ltr batch, most of which had gone out ... anyways .. he left us four more 20L tubs and took the faulties with him .... and that's the only issue I ever had with them ... Trying to recall the carriers they used - blue and yellow 18t, 4 wheelers ... they were always pretty good too

Firwood's ... would have to have a look at the tin (or the paperwork) to be more specific ... wasn't quite as dark as I was expecting and like p*ss in the tin, even after a major stirring -- unusual as their stuff usually needs thinning

We're looking for different paint, trimite (firwood) are suggesting 2 Pak top coat acrylic paint for the machines we are building, is it worth it? It'll be egg shell finish.

Currently we're using hammer finish but we're not getting a good finish and looking to try something else.

how are you applying it Mike air or air less spray ... I used to find if you thin it too much you don't get the hammer finish unless applied liberally with air spray .... airless was better

that a diaphragm pump or hydraulic piston? .... never had a lot of luck with diaphragm units - had a couple and they were both piss poor ... can't recall the make, but it was a decent one - may well have been Graco -- slung 'em both in the skip when I cleared the shop ... diaphragms were a ridiculous price for a bit of plastic that went hard for a past time
the hydraulic one I replaced them with was awesome - and so reliable as long as you kept it clean
trouble with going two pak is you will need 'proper' facilities to deal with that
