DL420CVT-7 wheel loader with CVT queen
DL420CVT-7, a wheel loader with dual transmission, i.e. hydrostatic and mechanical at the same time. It is a continuously variable CVT transmission that manages to deliver continuous and variable power to the wheels because it switches easily from hydrostatic transmission to mechanical transmission as speeds increase and according to traction needs, without ever impacting the engine which can therefore work at a lower and more constant number of revolutions.
Thanks to this technology, the DL420CVT-7 has a torque to the wheels that is always available even at low revs, with maximum acceleration (no reduction in engine revs impacts productivity) and allows faster V cycles with a reduction in fuel consumption up to 22%.
The advantage is not only a lower environmental impact, and therefore lower noise and reduced fuel consumption in the face of greater productivity, but it is also greater comfort for the operator who does not need to use the brake (hydraulic slowdown) and who will make the wheels slip less with a positive impact on operating costs on tire wear, brake wear and extended axle oil life.
CVT dynamic behavior is comparable to that of a pure hydrostatic transmission. The braking effect in the release phase makes it possible to optimize fuel consumption and drastically reduce brake wear.
In load & carry operations, on the other hand, the mechanical component comes into play, allowing you to always work with an engine rpm that fully exploits the torque.
A customized transmission
The other fundamental aspect is the possibility of using three driving programs to optimize each work phase. You therefore have the "Traction", "Dynamic" and "Creep" modes. Three operating modes which, together with the presence of the Eco Report, make it possible to optimize the use of the wheel loader. This is thanks to the constant control of the consumption level which provides fundamental indications for the operator.
The "Traction" mode allows you to have the adjustable traction control system. Performance is optimized by reducing tire slippage. Wear and consumption are reduced to a minimum by increasing the efficiency of the load cycle.
The "Dynamic" mode, on the other hand, allows you to make the most of the engine rpm, reaching maximum power. It is therefore possible to speed up work cycles when necessary or to use the maximum thrust capacity of the shovel for demanding operations.
Finally, the "Creep" mode allows you to work in ultra-slow gear when the gearbox is set in the FWD/REV positions. This allows the operator to carry out precision maneuvers in an extremely delicate way.

what do you think of this transmission how do you compare them with power train power shift, converter and hydrostatic would it be a various type of mistake, which is the best conformation for good consumption efficiency and machinery efficiency in the work cycle? thank you
