Sorry it's about as far from plant as you could get, but someone showed me this the other day:

Read the description, fancy getting away from it all, permanently?!
Absolutely 👍 lovely area that. Think might have driven past that once if it's one I think.
Dunno if it's as I get older but I feel less need to interact with other humans apart from those I want 😁

You might have walked past 😄

It does get you thinking though, but no post, no parcel deliveries, no ambulance (!). God knows what they do about putting the bins out 😅

that's the longest mile and a half I've seen :giggle: 'vid.'s like the start of the Shining, scaled down :ROFLMAO:

same as us with what little that doesn't get torched/ashes ... take 'em to the end of the drive - like you do

Not enough ground, for the asking and remoteness ... would need a bigger playground to entice me :giggle:

absobloodylutely .... why would you:giggle:
Yep same here

Off grid is all well and good but unless you want to splash out for Starlink how would you get your daily fix of Plant Talk?

The estate agents blurb says mobile signal is sketchy to none.

Already on starlink. I'm halfway there 😆
Why have you got it and what do you think to it? No phone line and no mobile signal?
We have no cable BB, can just about get a reasonable mobile signal here, so she tethers onto her phone for work and my provider has given me a small battery and mains powered router, it's about the size of a small phone and works ok.

Always nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of everyone else, but equally it’s handy to be able to nip out and pick up whatever you need without a half hour off road trip first!
Can’t imagine our weekly Morrisons food shop would get delivered ontime living there ;)

Tbf we've discussed this ...we at least 20 mins from any decent shop where we are ...once a week does us fine ...and I think you'll be surprised about online deliveries they get to some pretty remote location out here often surprised me.

Wtf I'm typing this... it's Friday and she was up at 3am knackered already ...kids 🤬

that track'd certainly deter the posty from delivering the crap that ours fills our letter box with weekly  .... burns fine though :giggle:

We should rename you V8Victor 🙂
I'll treat that one with the contempt it deserves :p
winds me up that they will come all the way down here with the (yesterday's) 5 flyers of crap - no other meaningful letters/post, just tish ..... 's no wonder the mail costs so much to use, when they perform like that ... deliver that sort of sh1t when they at least have some 'proper' mail to deliver and real cause to come to us.

That's what they're employed to do, it's their job. The stuff they deliver has been paid for and it pays their wages.

the PO is paid to deliver that crap along with the letters/mail ... making a special trip to every letter box on their rounds is not what they're paid pennies to do, by the pamphleteers ... can happen a couple of times a week here

I know, it's s**t, but look at it from another POV, their POV:
Someone loads you up with a pile of utter shite - bills, speeding fines, pizza menus and other advertising crap and tells you to go push it through someone's letterbox.
'Hello, here is a load of shite i'm pushing into your house'.
They know for a fact it's either going to cause unhappiness, distress or get thrown in the bin.
Where is the job satisfaction in that? There is none. None whatsoever. Yet they trudge through the shitty British weather to do it for not much money.
They need your kindness, the people on the frontline.

I'm simply saying .... don't make a special journey ... we get 'mail' probably 2 - 3 times a week ... just leave the crap 'til they have to come here ..... as said, 's why the postage is as ever increasingly dear as it is
(our regular posty is a great bloke - even delivers parcels for Vicki here, as he knows they're both in work all day ... couldn't want for a nicer bloke and always have a natter with him)
