What would you dig out below the conc to get a good bearing 600mm strip down to decent ground then fill and compact with stone?

my tall plinths were sat on 6" of compacted planings on top of ground excavated down to a solid base ... and again, as said, ain't moved a mil in ten years

Flat top concrete Lego block dug in to level/ height you want them 1 would bridge 2 x containers or go the hole hog and put 2 lines of them in?
