Hi All

The battery on these units are crap and it won’t empty bowser on one charge! They want £150 for new battery so was thinking convert it!

Would this work of a cigarette lighter if i made up a new cable? Or jump it of a 18v dewalt battery ? Only thing is existing battery is 12.8V

Can you get a picture of the pump?
I'll wager its standard 12V. If so just run it off a booster or spare vehicle battery like I do

Lidl sell 12v battery and charger kits. Could have several batteries then.

A 12v pump would probably be designed to take supply between 11.8v and 13.2v

Your cigarette 12v would be fine but the cabling would probably get quite warm when filling a large tank!

If it's old or secondhand the battery has probably just been run flat and left or just plain knackered. Any decent new quality battery the right size will pump that dry no bother. I use a little motorbike one on mine.



Why mess about with jump leads or fag lighters?? Just buy the right battery. Pull the old one out, write down the code or measure it and find the cheapest you can online to replace it. Simples.

Edit- Are you measuring that battery at 12.8v? Because that doesn't sound knackered to be fair. I'd have a poke about for any shorts etc- measure the draw with a multimeter when you turn it on and see if it matches up with the pump specs.

I don’t want to mess around with leads etc. But i cant find a exact match for a plug & play option. Someone said Cemo have discontinued batteries & only supply with jump leads.

Find whatever 12v battery you can fit in there, but beware lithium batteries use a different charge to 12v batteries.
