I've one in my yard I might part with FYI Johnny Barnes Brought a lot of about 15 buckets including a brand new grader, a V bucket and a few others for £50 each I know as I was offered em but did'nt want them all.

aye ... but JB's're usually £100-150, depending on what they are ... he's always got a mountain of 'em sat about

To be fair 3ft bucket looks like it's barely been used, ditcher can't tell of pics but older ones if used in anger crack below front pin. Clay bucket could easy be homemade/no brand. V buckets seem a good idea but unless you're digging a new ditch or straddling one you're cleaning out they ain't much use. 3ft probs worth £100 if you need one clay 50 v bucket i wouldn't bother unless you've deffo got use for it myself

Thanks for the replies guys. With my other 180 i only use a 2' with teeth and 3' with out teeth. Never used the ditching bucket for years. I dont use the digger much. It came out once last year.

Does anyone have any words of wisdom regarding this style of long reach trenching bucket?
In theory at least, it'd suit me perfectly for long runs of polypipe. However, it looks like a small amount of clay would pack in solid and never want to come out.

It’s very similar to my engcon cable bucket. It does get clogged from time to time but being long it’s easy to tap it out on the dozer blade to coax out any stuck muck.

Got some long fronted buckets myself the theory is material on it rather than in it. You don't pack it in the back that way takes a bit of getting out of the habit of curling the bucket round when coming out the trench as well (everything just falls off the side) but even in sticky ground a lot less sticks

I'd had that described and it sounded like a very effective solution, but I've never seen it implemented. This suggested either it's not effective or it's not required.

That's halfway to being a clay spade. If you're on wet clay, five minutes with the gas axe would give you a proper clay spade, job done.
