Hi everyone,

I've just got the above machine in the workshop it is a Benford TV800 before they became Terex and here lies the problem I can't find a wiring diagram for the machine anywhere having contacted my local Mecalac dealer and they are having no success and a search online is revealing nothing. I wondered if by chance anyone on here has a copy? The only option I'm left with then is the time consuming job of tracing and working out what the wiring does and where it should be. An auto electrician had already been out to it before me and fitted a new ignition barrel and the roller still doesn't work. I've had a look at the ignition switch and that was wired up incorrectly for a kick off!

My problem is the park brake solenoid isn't being fed with power. The wire is fine and tested right back to the main panel. The problem is in the main panel the same wire is fed through many relays and there are multiple of the famous white Terex/Benford control relays/units. Only these haven't got the abbreviations marked like the later Terex ones. Just marked up IP and OP, which is Input/Output. Which inputs and outputs I'm going to have to trace if I can't find a wiring diagram. As for bodging it ain't my style so we aren't going to be going that route as on older stuff like this if another wire fails and its been bodged by someone else it makes the problem so much harder to solve...

Thanks in advance,
Matt

It’s what I do!
Does it have a separate hand brake switch or seat switch and brake off when moving? Photos are good please

I think it may have some proximity sensors at the base of the lever. Test these may be worth a look

It probably has the two mag switches under the lever cover, which if I remember aren’t inter changeable, one for neutral position for starting, the other for reverse warning.

Hi Matt

I had a tv 1200 it was an early 90s roller if I remember correctly and a very good tool too. I’m not seeing a pic of yours in the thread , what year is it ? I just moved premises recently and came across the wiring diagram I had for it . Chances are if they are close in years then it would be extremely similar .
If so I will get it emailed to you

Hi everyone, thank you for all the replies, I've been busy on other jobs so haven't had time to look at the roller till today. Fitted four new engine mounts as all but one had sheared off so the engine was bouncing round violently, not safe to run for sure! I'm gonna replace the suction hose to the main pump before I run it as the rubber has perished and the braid has been stressed. I'm thinking because it was essentially restraining the engine. It's a customers machine that was bought as a project then brought to me to fix. I'm thinking the control unit will need to see the engine running before it will release the brake as all the other signals are working. It's seeing seat switch as the vibrate function won't activate without it and also confirms neutral switch is working too as you can't be in neutral and run the vibrate function. Can't run the engine till I've sorted this last issue then I can continue to diagnose the fault.

Does it have a separate hand brake switch or seat switch and brake off when moving? Photos are good please
Yeah seat switch fitted and bypassed to rule it out, no separate brake switch just uses the proximity sensors below the joystick to establish when the machine is not in neutral. Usually the cause for no start or brake not releasing. They are actually both working on this machine.
whats the s/n please

Correct it does have two proximity sensors, sadly both of them are working fine.

Yeah this machine will be between 1995 and 2001 based on the fact it is fitted with a Hatz engine rather than the later kubota engined units. If you could forward us a copy that would be much appreciated. I'll PM you my email address.

Wow! Thanks, that's much appreciated. Having had a look through all the wiring colours tie up and I should be able to sort the job. Just had a suction hose made up and told them to copy the original, they've only made it too long so another trip to hydraulic shop in the AM to get a new one made the correct length. I'll update the thread with pictures and an update tomorrow.

Good News!

The roller is now up and running. As I suspected the ignition switch was wired incorrectly, also the seat switch bypass worked once the engine was running. New mounts fitted meant a test drive was in order. The hose I replaced most likely cured the cavitation issue and the frothing of the oil as a result. It runs rather well no the engine is actually attached to the chassis and not just being restrained by the pump suction hose! :ROFLMAO:

Thank you for everyone's input it is much appreciated. I worked out that in order for the brake to release it needs the engine running something I couldn't do without the mounts being sorted first. Remove the seat switch signal and after 3 seconds the brake is applied, regardless of lever position. It more or less cuts drive completely. How they had managed to drive it like that is beyond me?

I'll take some photos tomorrow before it goes back and then you can see the general condition of the machine...

The only photo I got before it went back, a great runner a bit of a tidy up and it’ll be sweet as.

Hi Vinpetrol,

I'm in need of the wiring diagram, if there is any chance you still have it, would you be kind enough to send me it? Many thanks in advance.
