Benford 71HE Pedestrian Roller HELP

I've got an old Benford Pedestrian roller. A 71HE with a Hatz engine. Been trying to remove drive to vibratory (see photos), but it will not budge - any advice? Red wrench in photo on part I am trying to slide put. Bolts have been removed, I have turned it with wrench to free it but cannot remove it. (I have managed to remove the belt pulley. The picture without the red wrench shows where I need to pull it out from.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

I have added an extra photograph of one I removed years ago (it shows a lip inside which houses a circlip - but how do I get to that?

I have a similar roller and have had it apart a few times .... I'd drop the bolts out of the doughnut drive .... the drive shaft is almost certainly preventing you from taking the housing out of the ali casting .... not had any issues with this element on mine ... cotton reel cush drives, driving the drum used to be my problem and have had that entire end off on the bench ... pretty simple thing to get off .. 4 main bolts, 3 bolts in the doughnut fork and a couple of pins, plus the vibe drive pulley on the wobble spindle going through the centre of the drum

what problem are you having with the vibe .... intermittent?
cushes could have collapsed .. belt needs replacing .. has to be exactly the right belt

Thank you for the detailed reply and photographs ... I will compare to mine and have another go .... managed to get the circlip off that was right inside ... took all afternoon ... still haven't managed to remove any more parts as ran out of time ... but now have your photographs for reference. Also need to replace the cable which has snapped ... found a loose bolt and some chewed metal in the flywheel housing which jammed so need to look at that too. I will let you know how I get on or may need to pick your brains. Thanks again.

Worked on lots of these in my time, what didn’t it do, I used to also find issues with the drum rubbers, and eccentric shaft bearings seizing up, the peg bolts on the clutch fork, and spline dame due to clutch dragging.

if you do take the whole side off, as I did, you need to support the motor deck, either packed off the drum or packed under the legs, or it'll drop, when the 4 side plate capture bolts are removed

Yes I agree, the base falls onto the drum, not sure what the original problem was, may be able to do the job in situ!

I can only assume that there was an issue with the vibratory drive, as this is what's being given attention .... if any of the drum drive rubbers have collapsed the vibe will be intermittent as the belt tension is not constant as the drum rotates ... and as said, with no means of tensioning the belt, it's important that the correct length is fitted ... would have to look back to see which size is on mine, but think the one below is the right size ... probably the same on HLS's
