Battery light flashing take 2

Hi guys ... brought this up before and was told to ignore it.
May be someone has a different idea. ... basically, when I start the tb016, the battery light flashes all the time, yet the alternator keeps the battery operational.
Any ideas welcomed.

the charge light on the Countax is solid when not charging and flashes when it is charging? odd feature, but maybe adopted elsewhere ????

If you take the exciter wire off a live to it does it go out?

Light is supposed to be on when turning the key, go off when charging and flashing when there is a problem with the alternator or battery. I had the weirdest answers from Takeuchi (over the phone) like ... it's a faulty diode in the instrument cluster ... you have to replace the instrument cluster ... need a new alternator, and also, ignore it whilst it charges. I will have to try taking the wire off to see what it does.

Have you tested the voltage at the battery when the engine is running

Have had a few cluster issues, warning buzzer staying on, wrong key warning staying on, etc. but all due to water or broken screen letting water in!

I do know some years of tb175 when the stop solenoid fails it can overload the pcb in the instrument cluster and blow a diode. Local dealer at the times fitter sussed out which diode and used to solder a new one in rather than fit a new pcb. Obviously this isn't the issue here but just shows you're answers off takeuchi aren't as wierd as you may think.
One for @JD450A to know this if he hasn't come across it yet, if your 175s don't have a 1 amp fuse in the armrest to protect the board this is what will likely happen when stop solenoid packs in
