Backhoe Thread

Hey guys, I'm gonna be looking for a backhoe for myself, something on the cheaper side and with as little electronics as possible so i can fix it myself (I know a bit around mechanics and hydraulics) because finding a reliable service center or technician for anything construction equipment related here is a f***ing nightmare. I need something thats widely available so i don't have another parts finding nightmare like i have with the IF crane. What are your recommendations? Take note its for my own personal use so I'm not gonna be putting a massive amount of hours on it, maybe 300 to 400 per year. The budget i got for it is around 15.000 euros (13.000 GBP) and some addition cash set aside for the transport cost, import fees and any unexpected repairs. I've looked at getting a machine here but they are waaaay too overpriced for what you get so my next option is getting one from the EU (importing one from the UK is not an option as taxes are too god damn high, around 40% and to be honest I'm not gonna give the government a penny more then i have to). Also if you know any euro site or dealer where i can take a look i'd appreciate it if you could leave the links.

For parts availability (original and non-oem), a 3cx would be hard to beat.
I was fairly agnostic when I was shopping, but haven't regretted ending up with a 3cx.
I can recommend a parts suplier in Poland.
Reliability wise, did you have any major issues? I’ve got some work that needs to be done on my grounds and when I sum it all up I’m gonna pay well over 80k for someone else to do it so I might as well buy a machine and do I myself for less and still have a machine I can use for day to day or sell, but most probably keep as I don’t like selling equipment 😂

I bought mine sight unseen form a guy about 2000km away while I was overseas.
It's a '97 machine with 8200h on the clock and a transmission from a later model.
The hoses are tired (I've had two let go), so I'm replacing the worst of them. All fluids and filterers were assumed to be EOL and got changed befor any serious work started.
Almost all the ram seals have needed replacing since I bought it (two should have been replaced before I bought it!).
It needed a fair bit of maitinance it had missed out on.

It would not have been economic to buy it and hand it over to a dealer to bring it up to spec, but doing the work myself and learning a lot on the way, it's neen outstanding.

What year is your 3CX?

Edit: I’m blind 😂

Also is there anything to look out for specifically before buying one? And is it better to look for a higher hour, well maintained machine or is that just a miss conception I’ve got? I’ve got 2 machine’s in operation now that are used almost daily, the IF crane and Litostroj (made in Slovenia) 8t forklift and one junkyard ready 3.5t Jungheinrich forklift that I will set ablaze and later dump into the river because some dumbf**k engineer thought it would be a great idea to put in a seat sensor that cannot be overridden by any means and has been a pain in my a** for the last 6 f***ing months, hence why I am looking for an older, more manual machine even if it’s rougher to work with and doesn’t have as much electrical gremlins because I don’t have the time or patience to deal with anything that can’t be fixed with a basic tool kit and a sledgehammer.
