That’s fairly common. 1, the buyer thinks it’s cheap and leaves it at auction to hopefully capitalise on the next, 2, the buyer doesn’t pay or 3 as I have found at great expense it’s not the machine you thought so you cash out back at the next auction.

I am afraid we sent the most horrible machine to auction this week, it was a tired old dog that was cheap enough for what it was but the cab was falling off plus loads of other issues. ‘Sold to internet’ for pretty much what a nice one would sell for. Scary to be that buyer and I have been it before

I do also believe that some of the stuff is actually owned by Euro Auctions themselves. They can then bid to keep the price up and if no one else takes it back it comes!!

not strictly legal though ... (proxy) bidding in yer own auction on your own stuff ....
A car/vehicle/junk/tat auction house round here used to do it .... 'til everyone cottoned on to who was doing their (proxy) bidding..... and they ended up with a yard full of crap that no-one'd buy ..... and folks eventually stopped going there ...... became a standing joke ... spot the bidder .... usually in a virtually empty auction hall

my point exactly ... I am certain a well known plant auctioneers not far away, from me, do it ... all the time ... same faces running it up every auction

on a different 'angle' .... they'd knock stuff down as sold to you .... go to the office window to pay and they'd say ... "well you didn't quite make reserve, but if you'd like to increase your offer ... etc."

Did it to my old man one night ... bought a motor at a fair price ....... only time in my life I ever saw him pull his warrant card in civvies .... "shall we go in the office and discuss this matter further?" he got his motor for the hammer price - Citroen BX estate .. can see it now - - and they got a lot of attention from the local C.I.D. dept. after that

One of directors of euros is also a director at barford, don’t know if much of that kit goes through?

I could swear I have seen things at Euro ‘sold to the internet’ and then reappear at the next auction.

more than likely, could be for a number of reasons, funds don’t clear, you buy for a job then put it back in for next sale etc,etc.
