Adding proportional valve?

Considering adding something to my E10 to make the double acting auxillary roller activated. I can get a joystick with roller no problem. What do I need to do to the control? Not much space under the floor but could always add it externally.

Come on @V8Druid - I've a feeling this is your specialist subject! :ROFLMAO:

Don't even mention it to him! You will have CE top valves mounted to the roll bar for Feck sake!

I have everything you need right here to do it!...... BUT and this is the big thing You will need to modify the The spools in the main Control valve block as they are linkage control rather than pilot, it is posable as i have looked into it for a customer a year or so ago, but they bought zx19s instead

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better

so why not a prop Cetop then Aiden ?? small single gallery manifold, prop solenoid coils and a driver unit from the roller ? wouldn't be that big, especially if you used an integral unit, rather than the manifold/cetop block type, like these ...

dare say prop coils're available with drivers to suit

But isn't that just solenoid control and not proportional?

yeh that one is Mike .. but, as said " dare say prop coils're available with drivers to suit " ...
dinky little units for the flow rate ;)
wish they'd been available when I was VA-r building :giggle:

admittedly those are nice little valves for the right application.. but not for what Doobin wants to do.

One, they are not proportional, and its not as simple as just adding proportional coils to a valve.... a proportional CETOP is different to a standard one.. the galleries' are different.
Plus if you add that into a machine you will steal flow from the rest of the machine.

It needs a proportional Pilot feeder valve, operating the machines main stool valves, driven via a proportional controller.

The tricky part is modifying the main spools for linkage to servo..... it involves machining new caps etc.

@doobin as said we looked into it heavily for a customer, and would love to do one if you would like it done:p:D

Not necessarily (purchased new/old stock JCB valve off an 8085 for £250) and I can see where @CPS is coming from. Bought a proportional pilot oil valve to do a conversion on our hitachi. Done correctly you can use existing pilot pressure to drive the auxilliary spool slice proportionally via a small valve block with a couple of PWM solenoids. I think the idea is that you retain the flow sharing ability of the main block and the compactness of a pilot oil control valve, due to the lower working pressure of the pilot circuit and the fact your not dealing with a vast amount of flow means smaller components and can be retrofitted much tider and easier. The prerequisit is that you have pilot oil spools fitted to you auxillary slice, or at least a modification that allows oil rather than a linkage/cable to drive it. Just finding someone who is competant with hydraulics which it sounds like CPS is absolutely that, then just leaves a bit of mechanical modification and you're away. Probably not super expensive either? I used an Arduino micro controller and a motor driver board, to interface between the JCB rexroth joystick rollers and the PWM solenoids, set duty cycle of the valves based on roller position. Obviously this was me being a tight sod and DIY controller, the likes of Rototilt, Engcon et al. have nice custom controllers that are built to last. I dare say for a hair more than the £60 I spent! 😁

Give me an idea of price and complexity? It's a nice to have, not an essential unfortunately.
