, officially hung up his boots last Friday.
Many will have the pleasure of knowing him, many will know of him, he certainly gave me some seriously sound advice, when I was 'duck hunting' and a lot afterwards too ...
the industry will be one hell of an operator/font of knowledge shorter for his retiring from it.
Hope he has a great and long retirement.
few pix below of some of his mounts for interest - if you cut him in half he'd have rubber duck printed right through him like a stick of rock
not that he can't handle tracks either -- IIRC he started on a twin engine-ed UH20 'Tachi in Algeria laying pipe lines as a youngster.

he once said that when this turned up at some site, one of his mates told him "his dining table had arrived" (leg on each corner)

and then he bought a 'tilty' ... one of the first/very early adopters ... probably one of the last pix of this one, before ...............
he took possession of this fine specimen
he'd been down to Chez Druid a few months before and had a play with mine ... and was seriously impressed with the build quality, so added them to his shopping list on his next mount change -- rest's history and they/it did him proud ... IIRC he clocked 11,500hrs on it and it now resides with our own @Richard Hunton in its second/next life

and from the man himself .. hoping he might even put in a very rare appearance here 'praps ... sad that he chose to restrict his SM focus severely a while back - but with more time on his hands, we never know
