8026 issue

So got an intermittent issue, which has happened around 3 or 4 times. Was at about 3/4 revs grading when it tried to cut out, revs near enough dropped completely then caught it self but was enough to trip the ready to go button.
JCB are coming out tomorrow but apparently if it's a fuel filter I'll have to pay.
Machine was only recently serviced and sub 50 hours since the service

something contaminating your fuel? water from condensation 'praps? water saturated filter'd give this

No idea, will have a look in the morning, fuel cans have only ever been used with diesel from a forecourt and never had anything else in them and no issues with the dx10/htd5/cormidi which are all refuelled from the same cans

Are you sure that its a running issue? Have you had any electrical oddities recently? possibly an Earth point not tightened up properly, wouldn’t be the first unfortunately…

No idea, will have a look in the morning, fuel cans have only ever been used with diesel from a forecourt and never had anything else in them and no issues with the dx10/htd5/cormidi which are all refuelled from the same cans

have they all been refuelled since your last visit to the forecourt ....... you wouldn't be the first to get a dose of water in yer fuel if the tank is getting low

Fuel gauge was around half, either half full or half empty depending on who sees it which way

Went out with a torch and this is the water separator

There's a much smaller filter in a white plastic casing that fuel passes through before it gets to the larger cartridge one. Did you change that one when you serviced it? Also try blowing the lines back through with a mini compressor back to the tank just to make sure the fitter doesn't try to blame it on something simple which is your fault!

JCB did the service as part of the extended warranty and service package.
I seen the smaller filter, but now way to look inside.
I did say to the service guy, when he tried to say it might be a filter, that I won't be paying for it. He tried to say filter wouldn't be covered under warranty but if, it is that it must be a faulty filter that was supplied.
I can't see it being the filter, I would have thought if filter related, it would be a constant issue but its literally once in a blue moon and doesn't happen again for a while

I've had similar with one of mine, shite in the tank was the cause.

It'd run for months no issues then die off, you'd put a new set of derv filters on it and think you'd cured it.

Last time it did it it'd sucked a lump of crap into the tank feed line n blocked. Blew it back to keep the machine running but drained the tank once it was back in the yard. No problems ever since.

Had it before where the filter isn’t sat in right,only ever after a jcb fitter has serviced the machine may I add!!!! , drawing air into fuel lines. Never ever had to pay for a filter under warranty and I’ve had a fair few changed as part of fault finding problems.. they even changed the whole filter housing on a machine once to try and eradicate a problem(I suspected the fitter didn’t install the filter properly , but so he wasn’t caught out said the housing was at fault!)
