3cx quick hitch

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has had any problems with a JCB (geith) quick hitch on a 3cx. Opening it involves pressing main switch then pressing both buttons on backhoe levers whilst operating bucket curl in but has become a very hit & miss affair!! No problems closing it!

If its a JCB branded hitch, they have a control box mounted on top of the dipper. Do you still get the two tone buzzer that tells you when the arm is in the right position?
If you do, then the little ball bearing in the control box is probably fine. But many people short the wire out so you can take the bucket off in any position.
But what many people don't know is there's another little ball bearing in the hitch that gets sticky if you don't use it regularly. I find shaking the bucket before crowding it right in to open the hitch seems to sort it.
You can take it apart and give it a polish up but regular use seems to help sort it

Thank you Gunners for the reply and yes it is a JCB branded {Geith?} hitch. Yes shaking the bucket before crowding it in to open it does usually sort it out but where is the ball bearing stuated in the hitch itself?

No idea, somewhere in that little box on the ram I'd guess. There must be a Geith exploded diagram somewhere that shows it. I was told its not too hard to take out and clean up. But being on site at the time, I wasn't brave enough to give it a go in lunch break which was suggested was possible - so it cant be that hard!
