2cx slideshift

Im looking at an old 2cx tomorrow, aprox a 1998 but the seller says the slideshift doesnt work and hasnt since hes had it....any ideas on what to look at while im having a butchers at it.

I assume its similar set up to the 3cx

Very long while since ive been on one too and never recall switching arm over. I cant see a switch for it in the pics ive got.

When you press the button is should drop of them clamps. They can seize on for sure I hate them

As in you hate the clamps or the 2cx

Where abouts is the button on these. It is a 1998 one

Normally on the dash.. if it doesn’t release like Ross says check the fuses, the release shares a fuse with something random , can’t remember what!
I found the best way to help them move is make sure they are spanking clean, don’t waxoyl or grease as the muck sticks and clogs the rails up,just abit of wd40 every so often, if the rails are abit rusty run the sander down them

It pressures on and off by activating a leg circuit....so there must be a change over valve somewhere.
