At 1 ohm on 24v that’s going to pull 24 amps so just shy of 600 watts. Do you know what the duty cycle on them is? If they are rated as 100% for continuous use you could probably get a bit more holding power from them by running on a slightly higher voltage for intermittent use.

They are so small, if you have a pair you could mount them side by side

because it’s bolted to the rear of the crusher bucket I would think it would be turned on for a long time while crushing material (It‘s usually a long process )

Looks like it could be handy though I suspect it's power will be quite low if it's just ment to pick the odd bit of wire out the stream coming from a crusher bucket

Well got a couple of batteries (from the scrapyard) ones even a CAT battery
joined them in series for my 24v

so needed something to lift with a bit of weight

enter my anvil (which also came from the yard)

picked it up no bother

and released pretty quick too but did have gravity helping it, when I picked a bit of plate up it held on for a bit but if I reversed the polarity for a second it dropped like a stone

So in summary a result what do you think @JD450A

Very good time.... just awaiting email confirming the last set of weights..... I'm starting to run low on things I don't want, but tbh there is still a good amount left

Expect the metal sucker thing will pay for itself as there is alot of short bits semi buried in the soil.

What’s your plan for power when this is on a machine? Are you going to just wire it in to the machine batteries via suitable switches or do you have something more hi-tec in mind?

Just going to the batteries on the machine if the machine is running it should keep up with demand

as for switches been thinking about it today

going to use a couple of 3 phase contactors (switches) and wire up as if I’m wiring up a motor for forward and reverse but on one contactor will be latched by a relay and the other momentarily so it reverses the polarity momentarily, using two buttons on the joy stick one will enigise the magnet the other will cut the power to the first contactor and also switch on the second one (only while the button is pressed) to release simples
