Moving some bucket for tarmac lads and js130 2006 died throwing up 233 isu error “safety solenoid short circuit” only getting 7.4 volts at solenoids after 28v on startup.

batteries good, alternator good.

fitter thinks might need new Ecu controller which is £700 ish

Any ideas, right in the bloody way as well

Can you bypass the solenoids to move it?
No powered up the solenoid but all others getting 7volts not 24 so it’ll run fine, wont rev fully unless manually powered to throttle servo but computer just won’t let you do anything pilot lines are limp

It’s what I do!
The ECU only tells the screen what errors it has🤨 run an ignition wire to a relay and then an earth to the dead man( left hand lever switch) and back to the switching side of the relay, then run the switched 24v to your solenoid! A bit different for throttle and fuel stop solenoid. Make sure the solenoids are 24v not 12v!

Bet the dead man solenoid coil has burst and is shorting to earth, dragging the others down with it ... got another coil you can use or one you can swap off an unused motion/service ?

Drema's servo circuit isolator solenoid coil did just this, a couple of years ago ... looked fine, had continuity, but was gone to earth in the centre on the armature sleeve .... swapped it out for a.n.other good one off a different service and could at least move it 'til the new ones arrived (bought two - one for 'ron) ... the servo isolator coil gets real hot as it's one circuit that's constantly engaged in use

Good shout Druid, I think 2 speed solenoid is the same thing, swap them over leave a plug off👍🏻

could also be the DIN plug gone bad .... have had that too .. shows enough on a meter but won't carry a load .....
had me foxed for a while, 'til i took it to bits ...
contact had broken in half and arced enough for continuity but not to run the coil for me slew brake  ..
new DIN .. problem solved, but when the meter says 24V :unsure: o_Oo_O

other alternative could be the micro switch on the dead man lever .... contacts arced to destruction and barely passing voltage to the servo kill/isolate solenoid valve's coil

She’s moving with some Gerry rigged wiring getting moved tonight to mates yard 1 mile away then ordered a new valve bank , some of the valves abs solenoids were goosed so to replace 8 valves and coils was £1300 or entire new built up block £1400. So ordering from gunns in morning 😢

pretty reasonable for that really ...... but still a lot of money:cry: .... take it that was the servo control solenoid bank?? ...... got summat like it sat here, off Mog's de-icer :giggle:;):whistle::whistle::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Yeah does all safety stuff like slew lock, dead man’s handle. 8 valves and solenoids. Might not be all f***ed but fair chance if two are gone others might not be far off so short term pain but should make that bit good for another few years.

they sit in an exposed position really no cover to them maybe that contributed or just 14 years old and machines got 5k hours on it maybe unlucky

yeh, as you say short term pain, but nothing like the pain of having it stuck at a critical time/critical position .... could just keep spending on that ... and always have it for bits or a refurb. (y)
Last of the best ‘old ish skool’ machines, we’ll worth spending abit on to keep her running 👍🏼

The Sumitomo collaboration finished long before that old girl rolled off the production line. Still a great machine in my opinion though, well worth keeping in good condition.
