Powertilt

Just got a quote for a hill powertilt for 8t machine @ £6250 plus vat - 12 weeks lead time.

Anywhere else worth a try ?

Before anyone says "might as well stump up and buy a tiltrotator" I will be doing but not on this machine, this is a stopgap solution to get shut of the tilt bucket.

I would keep an eye out for a second hand one. They are good, but £6250 is too much, they are not that good. Have you tried pricing an actual powertilt from the likes of Exac-one?

If you get the right size for your machine all they seem to do is weld in thick wall tube in the right place to take your pins. Shouldn’t be a big job to adjust to fit. I’m sure several people on here have bought second hand.

I'm sure you could find a decent SH 4 pipe tilty for less
Can they handle abuse though Tilties? Would have thought so in the wrong hands and perhaps not that desirable to buy used without knowing the history of it...
Powertilts are mad money really when you think they're pretty basic things. I liked mine but equally since getting rid haven't missed it overly much. O e of those things nice to have on for certain jobs but the other 80% was quite glad to have it off.

I bought second hand one off Ross on here leaked like a sieve and took ages to get seals and then couldnt be welded for hitch as heat transfer so had to be done in 2 parts and bolted together. Be careful of second hand ones, repair was more than the hitch cost.

I welded mine just fine, both sides. Not hard to keep the hydraulic bit cool.
