yeh these buyer's premiums are a PITFA ... as if the ****ers don't get a big enough commission as it is ....... makes you think carefully on yer top figure ..... not being VAT reg. any more puts things like this off the agenda for me, sadly, unless the price reflects a good buy, inclusive ...... not a cat in hell's chance with this one BTLsPlus 15% but at current prices looks to be a good buy

I must admit the 2 litre engine and 10 speed auto box in the ranger hasn't been out long enough for my money as a long term optionTbh seeing as you like to keep things for a while I don't think the new ford's are the way to go. They are made of cheese
At least if the new hiluxs end up being made of cheese you have 10yrs 100k warranty to help you.
There was a very nice Hilux invisible went very cheap on ebay the other day as it had a dent in the tub.
I reckon the dent was sitting it at nealy a 10k discount
I must admit the 2 litre engine and 10 speed auto box in the ranger hasn't been out long enough for my money as a long term option
That's not so big an issue in some ways tbh i think the 10 speed auto is there to a good job of masking it's lack of guts mind. It's just ford's self destruct habit that would worry me out of warrantyAnd I can't see how such a small engine producing so much power is going to be sound long term. So much strain on everything
Oh yeah forgot about the wet belt. Apparently it's biggest fault is overdue oil changes/ fuel contamination in the engine oil (which can be affected by driving style and type of journeys) rotting the belt.I think if those 2.0l engines are the same as a transit, they have a wet cam belt, and only about 13/15mm wide and an other driving the oil pump. I heard of 3 let go before christmas.
Maybe people are assuming they are a timing chain rather than a belt so they are not getting changed![]()
