Do any of you have any advice on what to look for when buying a used micro/mini? Is there anything you wouldn't touch with a barge pole? Are there any big red flags to look out for. Thanks in advance!

Unless it’s a komogsu, in which case it may be far from its original spec, but well engineered and highly capable! 🤠😉

Regarding scams my understanding is that's people asking for deposits before seeing the machine?
A scam can be anything that makes you part with your money without getting a machine that was as described. They are quite clever about it, but the best advice to avoid it is to never buy a machine you haven't seen in person unless its from a reputable dealer. I've done a couple of videos about buying 2nd hand minis on Youtube which might be of interest. Generally buy the best you can afford and don't be fooled by a quick paint job.

In all seriousness watch @Gunners video, it will save a load of typing.
Have a search on here for the scam thread, there`s a few dealers featured on there that might be best avoided.

And if it looks to good to be true it probably is!
Has to be said- not a great time to be buying used plant.

I think I picked up a good one... time will tell though 🤞

Yes it has some paint on it. Buy very clearly has been looked after and only 800 hours. Engine purrs away, very little play other than where the dipper and bucket connect but I think shims or bushes will sort that out.

Chap who sold it to me was nice fellow, it was obvious he wasn't a criminal try to pull a fast one. Was a fair chunk of change but hell of a lot cheaper than new - and I own it!

What year would that be? I'm always sceptical of any vehicles with low mileage for year I presume would be same for plant? A good eye would know from condition if hours are genuine though I suppose? At least motors mot history gives you a bit of a clue.

I've not had a chance to use it in anger yet, but it tracks very smoothly. It's was 8k which I'm happy with given the condition - if I needed to I'm pretty sure I'd sell it for that tomorrow.

2013, I'm pretty sure it's genuine by condition and how it operates. But like I said, time will tell. I'll need a few hours on it before i can tell if I've brought a 🍋
