Hi Pettsy, nothing odd we are just going through VAT registration at the moment & should receive our VAT number next week this is why the machine is not available to purchase for a couple of weeks. The hire adds on ebay I forgot to adjust but I have removed them now.

The machine was ordered for a contract that got cancelled due to the client being heavily affected by the Covid Pandemic & the machine also arrived late for the same reasons ( hence why it has only just gone up for sale)

The machine is fitted with a 24k Engcon & a 4k grab, also: root ripper, pallet forks, buckets etc & they don't come cheap.

It is also Idig ready but the system is not included as we are using it elsewhere.

Regards
David

How do you find the micro with servos @Sloany ?
The micro is a great bit of kit with plenty of power. The side levers though are a bit of a cumbersome afterthought that become annoying if your on & off like I am to operate the dumper. The revised one due in August looks like they have got it just right so I'd be waiting for one of those👍

Are rates really that bad up North? £260/day for a brand new 2.7t Kubota? How much for the multi one? Looks like you got some tidy kit 👍🏻

Heck of a jump from that to the KX60, gutted for you mate. No way you could have tried to source other work?

Did you buy the lorry for it also?

Hi doob, I'm the most expensive in my area at £260 on the U27! Unfortunately I can't get the £350 a day it should be due to having 3 guys close buy charging £150 for 3ton machines. Most of my hires add a breaker or root ripper etc and we charge extra for those so end up with a decent rate. The frustrating part is there is plenty of work and these guys would get a decent rate if they just stopped cutting each others throats. I just leave them to it.

With the job being so busy and a shortage of machines I thought it would be a good idea to advertise the machine and see what happens. If it doesn't sell work will come in for it eventually and it is a lovely bit of kit.

The Multione is a great bit of kit for our own jobs but we dont get many hires for it, we tried sending it out at £250,00 a day but most builders would rather pay a couple of labourers £50 each to slog away all day.

I'm quite lucky as I'm semi retired & don't need lots of work but I have some great long term customers who I do price work for and i still love the job. Plus it gets me out away from the wife🤣👍

Fancy a holiday down South at those rates? I can put you up away from the wife! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I'd up your rate to £300 and see what happens. It's a boom out there, make hay whilst the sun shines. Advertise your availability. Mind you, folk are strange when it comes to diggers.

I priced a job locally last week. Needs a micro to dig a bitch of a trench for gas around 20m between a fence and a row of bushes, with tree and bush roots everywhere. Water meter on pavement near to where the gas was to terminate- most likely went straight to the house but you never know... Also had to cut/break a concrete path to get it to the garage wall. But that wasn't all. It had to be done this Saturday (today). Woman on the phone said they were 'developers' and it needed to be done between sale completion and Monday morning when the gas board were due.

I thought £400 plus VAT would be very fair for that. No idea who's ended up doing it but it's pissing down and they are welcome to it for less than £400 in the current boom climate.

This house would have sold (a bungalow, run down, probate sale) for around a million. And they didn't want to pay £400 for a tricky job, with a pipe down there somewhere, with a weeks notice, had to be done at the weekend, in the biggest bubble we've known, where you can't get a tradesman for love nor money?

f**k em.

I bet your glad you're not sat on the micro in the rain🤣 its a miserable place to be.

Thanks for the kind offer but I did 15 years working away and love sleeping in my own pit😁 We keep busy with our regulars, earn decent money and spend a bit of time rectifying the £150 a day jobs when the ex taxi drivers buy a digger. As you say there's plenty out there want everything for nothing but like yourself I won't work for nothing or lower my rates.

I’d rather do the £260 days jobs that I pick and choose and enjoy doing rather than the £300+ Jobs that no one else wants to do..
that said I too won’t work for nothing and as time has gone on really only do price work around our own property development jobs now.

Wants a good set of 550mm steels on then I’d be inclined to agree!

spot on. Sooner be earning £260 any day if the job is enjoyable. Would have to be considerably more if it was a nightmare job- actually scrub that I just wouldn’t do it- there’s more to life than money.
You should easily be able to earn a decent enough living and pay for a new 2.6ton machine and associated running costs imo at £260 a day but everyone’s situation is going to be a bit different. £150 for a 3 tonner a day is mad though!

I might have to have a re-think and stick my 6 tonne Rototilt’d Takeuchi back up for sale if this is what nearly new machines are going for!
