White derv only for construction from April 2022

Anyone heard about the plans to stop all construction using red diesel but all agriculture still can from April 2022.
That’s pretty handy for the farmers . Now they really shouldn’t have much bother undercutting me for the easy jobs .

Was discussed a while ago. General consensus was that it would be revised. Huge knock on costs for everything if every crusher, forklift and digger has to be run on white.

Hoping we see some industry pressure against this. I could take a level playing field- it would just be yet another stealth tax. But leaving the Agri boys this back door just takes the piss.

It sure does , on my way home from work last night I saw 2 sites with diggers behind tractors and tractors with dump trailers getting ready to haul for the weekend when no one is around to see them at it .
I don’t mind a bit of fair competition but there’s nothing fair about it .
most of the work I do is setting out and involves a fair bit off thinking so experience gets me the jobs but it would be nice to get an easy shift once in a while without the local agri boys hoovering it all up

Mate of mine has been telling me about some sort of new green fuel, HVO or something like that, I shall have to find a link......

As I think it was worded that you have to use white OR a green alternative. Which would mean that possibly a green fuel would be acceptable.

I will be honest and say that I have not read that page, just found it and posted it. But it’s the stuff my mate was on about. I said I bet it’s expensive and his reply was “same price as red”....

My fuel supplier told me recently that they have switched back to red diesel with no bio percentage in it at all . It was to troublesome, customers were complaining about fuel issues . He said it all stopped as soon as they’d got rid of the fuel with a percentage of bio in it

There’s no issues with mixing the GTL as far as I know. We were advised that I keeps better and is better for more modern engines, burns cleaner etc. I was considering starting to use a fuel additive, like a Stanadyne or similar, but was told there was no need with this GTL

We’re we simply sold a line? For a few pence more? Not sure, but we’ve experienced no performance issues and had no problems with it at all.

yeh this FAME blended sh1t has caused some problems about the place by the sounds of it .... I always ask if it's pure red and don't think my guy has gone down that road .... he'd soon hear about issues 'round here
