If sole trader in the first year of purchase for the piece/s of plant you can write off 100% of the cost or down to your tax free earnings amount and the remaining balance gets put in a "pot" and written off at 18% each year. Not sure how any left over is done as limited bit probably similar

It's more advantageous for non Ltd subbies then. My old man went into higher tax bracket last year and probably will next with the 3 handouts he's had off the revenue. Might tell him to buy a machine.

not really its the same allowance doesnt matter if your ltd or sole trader.

On the other hand if you have ltd co and sole trade you can claim it twice ..................

Yeh but above 50k in Ltd doesn't push you to 40% it does in self employment

Have asked a couple of times but he had not been back on, I did also send Neil a direct message but no reply
TBF Neil does tend to hop in/out here spasmodically ..... it's quite possible he's not looked in here since

First thread I have ever tidied up on here. Shoot me if you must, this isn't a moderated forum really I think you all know that but I think some things are best left for the private area, threads can go of onto different subjects and often do but some of the things mentioned well lets just say you never know whos looking in. I have no issue with it being talked about but just better not in a public forum

The trouble with a private section is it could make the forum look a lot quieter than it actually is and that’s probably not ideal for attracting new members.

I'm with you on this James 👍

Firstly, whether the recommendations made by members on here are legal or otherwise, they are likely to be a red flag to the authorities and I'm not sure it's wise going into some of the detail that's been published 👮‍♂️🚓👩‍⚖️. Secondly, this forum was set up (thank you, Ross) to encourage discussion about Plant; and to set up some private clique (who gets to moderate membership, BTW?) is not, I believe, in the spirit of what was intended. If anyone needs reminding about how bad things can get, look at some of the antics of Lord Sean and the other self-appointed members of the elite on the old BCEF.

All, as ever, IMHO 😑

Its not really as private group for everybody to post its just somewhere where the members who paid the subscription that they currently pay have access to.

There have been times I wish to discuss with our regular supportive member base a few ideas but cannot as nothing is private (example)

please lets not fuss about this, we are not charging for it, its part of the membership package. It will be a members lounge (one header only) it will hardly be used I think.

Well the only used TB210 I can see on ebay is £13.2k. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Takeuchi...808813?hash=item3db4b5a76d:g:USIAAOSwuytgDE8S

So if he paid less than that, then yes, incredible deal.

However, it's got NOTHING to do with buying cash not finance. The dealer doesn't care how it's paid- they either get the agreed price from you in full or from the finance company in full.

Conversley, many dealers receive kickbacks from the finance company for getting customers to buy on tick. In the car industry, it's well known that dealers make their money from finance, not the sale of the car.

Be interesting to see what price be got, last quite I had 2 years ago was 13.5 plus vat.
Local dealer getting back to me with stick in shortly although guessing won't be as keenly priced as Neil got.

E10 seem to be going for decent money not sure how much mine would reach 2018 with just over 400 hours and compared to the ones for sale looks like it just come out if the dealer (not scratched all over with paint missing)

Bobcat versions are usually cheaper than Doosan. Make sure you know what spec you are getting too- there's only a few options on the micro, off the top of my head there's the keypad ignition and demolition spec (extra oil cooler and hose guarding for travel motors) These being specced or not will swing the price either way.
