What a week of weather we are having ! I’m on an awkward job taken on as we’ve got nothing else lined up at the minute. It’s a concrete drive on a hell of a slope so steep in fact the dumper wouldn’t go up it Ended up tipping the concrete out and slewing it round in the machine it pissed it down the whole time dried out then pissed it down all night so is it worth going to check it ?!? To cap it off I clipped the neighbours fence literally clipped it. Owned up to it apologised and went to repair it and he flew off the handle at me effing and jeffing abd will be getting the guy who installed it back and then will invoice me ... luckily it’s a friend who I’ve pre warned. He even stated we’d damaged his fence by leaning on it Now I fully appreciate we damaged it so we repair slash pay for it but is there any need to be abusive ?!? I get the inconvenience of it ! why as a contractor do you get to just stand there and take it !

On feather edge do you guys nail so it goes through both boards? I always bring nail in so it misses the back board so won't split it when the boards shrink. Amount of people I see just nail through both makes me doubt myself...sorry bit of a tangent

Not just you ....few weeks back we had our craziest customer in 20 odd years - we did the job it was signed off by inspector and he paid before we left and was as happy as larry ...before the job the spoil was agreed to be left on site and levelled into low areas etc which it was and before we left he walked round and he said brilliant job etc even gave me a bottle of wine as we left.
After weekend i went back to collect mini to take to next job and he came out of the house freaking out saying he wanted spoil levelled in another area and it wasn't how we agreed and what a f****ng mess !!!!???

I quite seriously asked him if he was joking ...and he made it clear he wasnt...so rather than fall out i set about redoing all spoils for him , it took another 3hours or so to move it and relevel ......I kept expecting Jeremy Beadle to come out of the fecking bushes anyhow before loading i asked him if it was o.k and he just ignored me

Top tip from me, do not ever leave a machine on a job after its complete...take it that day no matter what.

We nearly always leave stuff as I cant get everything away in one go but agreed good tip if its doable
