Not sure how thick fire doors are, but came across this when looking for a pusser's trolley. Save you messing about making one if they will fit.

Cheers i've come across a local firm on the google. Got some scrap OSB for the base of the flat dolly

I did see those panel trolleys on eBay but I reckon I can get the gear for less than 20 quid and should knock it up in less than an hour so ill have a go myself

Well and hour and 15 from kit out to pack up. Just awaiting wheels which I'll get next week. Maybe 2hrs more reasonable. All corners rounded off and routed pencil round. Feel like my old grandad messing about making turd burglar like this lol. 1 problem I've spotted is going to need an All screws to attach casters to 18mm OSB. Perhaps why the one in photos above has extra blocks underneath?!

Or some 3x2 runners to add strength countersunk in through top then casters screwed in underneath.

The local place do solid rubber wheels too with end caps to lock in. I've emailed and asked if they do 1/2" bar for an axle. If not where would I readily get a short length @V8Druid ?

a lot of DIY places have 'bar/section' racks ... with metre lengths of all sorts ... 1/2" might be an issue though ??

Yeh seems like all these solid rubber wheels are made for half inch bar. Hopefully they sell that too

Have you got any small family owned steel stockholders by you? One by here has loads of offcuts by their saw where they have cut to size, and lets you have a route through if your looking for small amounts or odd ball stuff that you don't want a full length of.

yeh used to have a bathroom scales for selling smaller off cuts by the kilo ;) was the easiest way and quick .... half inch is going to be bright drawn only though Jim ... black rounds're all metric and have been for decades

How long a bit of rod do you need? could you cut it out of a suitably long 1/2UNF or UNC bolt? Might be easier to order/find? If you only want a short bit that is....
