Welcome to the forum, Dod.
Well, we know what you’ve got on the fleet. Love the snowplough on the Ford. Is the little one on the right a Yanmar?

you’ve inspired me, I’m going to stand on my garden shed roof and take a picture of the K008.

It would surprise you how few pilots we have. Theres the gritting kit for winter. Then the roadside cutting kit for summer. Then the gritters run at night so you jump on a digger through the day.
Also by buying more affordable kit at 1 or 2 years old (or 10 years in the case of some o the dumpers😁) and not having payments I'm not worried though a machine dosent move for a month even 2.

Thanks. It's a John Deere 4300. Bought it at an auction. Had an electrical fault. 2 days traced it too a broken pin in a plug. Always in demand be bought the most profitable tractor.

I started in June 08 and the first thing I bought was that old Ford 8240 out of Ireland for £5250 delivered!!!

Its ideal to be able to be able to buy everything outright but lets be honest it depends on the start you have, circumstances can vary.
For instance I had to borrow money for my biz premises - as a one man band its just not possible over here to accumulate enough money in any one tax year to buy those high value items - end of year you get 50% of it taken off you, simples.
Your yard looks nice.

same here but not quite 50% ..... trick was to spend it before the end of the year ... on gear and at least save some tax, or spend it on maintenance and get 100% deductible allowance ... 'swhy i had a serious alarm system and an 8 ft palisade fence right round my acre yard ;) :giggle: .. better than giving it to the blood suckers. (y)
Kept the fence, in the contract, when i sold the site and had a pull on the fence when i sold that too :giggle::giggle: .... came down two days 'fore completion and buyers were pissed off when they discovered they had to re-fence the site the day they took possession, but they'd signed the contract too  .. the 'nationals' aren't all as shrewd as they think they are ;) ... a lesson they should've learnt, dealing with me, from the outset.
rang me one day, well into the process, pleading poverty , wanting to reduce their offer .. said send me your figures (open book contract) ... crunched the numbers over the weekend and told 'em to **** off Monday morning ... I'd got a better deal from a.n.other buyer ... stunned silence at the other end ... "you want to stay on board, put 50% of the agreed sum in my account by Friday or you're history" was in there the next day - non returnable - ... they were in toooooooo deep to walk and knew i'd **** 'em off in a heart beat :giggle::giggle: ... focused their minds on making it happen ;):sneaky::sneaky:

Love it!! really didn't want one as never liked the brand but was convinced to buy one. Double rear axle tipper. Has a tare of 2680!!!! but will carry 2 ton and dosen't look it or feel it. Once picked up a cube from the batching plant - was working half a mile away. Boy on the plant couldn't belive how little the springs went down.

Lovely set up is that your own volumetric mixer ?
Yes. Not long purchased. bought it to do our own yard. Its not road legal but really handy for our own jobs. The van can leave the yard with a half cube rather than going round past the batching plant which are shut now anyway

The land has still 15yr till its mine but the shed we did ourselves
A few of those machine would have had finance on them at some point. Wont rule out financing any new purchases again.
Started up 11 year ago. Obviously financed a lot more then. Ive tried to buy a machine - finance it for 3 year - keep it for 6 year. That lets me save up more money for the replacement. Over that 6 year you right off the value of that machine and also keep up replacing your other machines at a rate of 1 a year then due to capital allowance you shouldnt have that much tax to pay. (I have a small business degree)
