Anyone used these boxes to keep the flying rats away? They were here last year and made a mess but there seems to be a lot more of them this year so looking at ways to get rid of them.

Wonder if someone does a industrial spec one..? Like 1000m2? My sheds are like a magnet to the bloody things! Although I did have a lovely purple racing pigeon visit for a while..

Where’s it for Mike, Sheds, house, could nets or those spikes work?....Know a farmer who lets local falconer fly his birds round his farm to keep them away.

I always found an air rifle the best bet. Go out with a torch when it’s dark and they don’t fly out the shed, I’ve shot a lot this way, if you try it in daylight you’ll get one maybe and the rest fly out the door. After a few times they think sod this and bugger off somewhere else.

Just look up on google for falconry places in your area and I’m sure you’ll find someone, there’s also another farmer and also the owner of the clay pigeon ground that let the police use there land/ground for them to exercise there police dogs, not for the flying rats but the ones with two legs😎

This is really common in London where the do gooders protest at the shooting of anything. So its actually a business to fly birds of prey as a deterrent.

On a side note what's all the pigeons doing in towns and cities food wise during lockdown with barely any people about dropping stuff.

It's open fronted sheds, but there are houses about 100m away. Your method does sound simple enough Jimbo. I've been looking up netting options which will run up a good few hunder quid plus the time of installation. I could instead get hold of a pellet shooter of sorts and spend a few evenings taking pot shots. What's the current rules for this do I need any kind of ticket to own a air gun?

No license required Mike as long as it’s under 12ft.lb
