Since I've got a bit of time on my hands I thought I would start a thread of what I get up to. I'll start off with one of my most recent jobs, digging out for an extension.

I'm not sure why this one is on it's side, I tried rotating it but it just went sideways the other way 🙃

This was one of those jobs that quickly escalated. Just a quick scrape off a couple of inches of sub-base so the builder could concrete an area in front of the garage. Just a pity all these rocks were just an inch under the surface 🙈

This was the same job but earlier on digging out for an extension and an extension to the garage. You might have to put your computer on it's side to see them properly though

This was me back to the same job to finish off. The guy got some cheap lock block but there were 60 and 80mm blocks, the charcoal were from 2 different manufacturers and he also got some tegula blocks. I just had to work it in as best as I could.

Thanks Druid. It took a bit of working out, but got there in the end. The hardest thing was getting my expectations as low as Joe Publics 🤷🏻‍♂️
absolutely rocking here Boyo :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Laugh, but that's a thing. 90% of the job to your eyes is 110% of the job to most customers. The trick is not to get too sloppy and get a bad rep, but also not to waste too much time on what won't be appreciated.

Don't complain - suggest what's better
I wish I could find people with that attitude to do jobs for me. 9 times out of 10 you give people as spec, agree what you want done and when you come back they have done something different. When you query it they say "We always do it like this" even though you agreed something else, then wonder why I'm annoyed.

That’s very true. I always think if you look long enough at anything you’ll find fault of some kind, well I know I do.

's why I rarely have anything done for me ... try to always do it myself ... know it's as I want it and done right (hopefully) :ROFLMAO:
Pam doesn't seem to understand this problem ... but doesn't look at it with the same 'eyes' as I do  ... and complains things take so long, but I only have one pair of hands and limited energy :(

me stone facing for the wall is one exception ... can see other people's work beforehand .... but given time to practice, I might get the hang of it ... just goes against the 'engineering grain' for me .... Toooooo random

Whereabouts in the country is that. Don't often see render all the way down to below DPC level. Assume thats what the gravel splash area/border is for?

It was in Aberdeenshire, it matches the existing house, it was actually roughcasted with a grey chip then painted. Hopefully the gravel border will help.
