Good daoy chaps & chapesses. I thought I would give you an insight to some sights we see in the hammer hospital with problem pockets on a daily basis. We repair breakers for some of the largest demo companies in the uk and boy, don't they treat em mean. Here's some examples, please feel free to ask

Converted this bracket from 80 to 90 mm pins

I would love to say its freehand but if that was the case komatsu then there would certainly be the odd flat edge. I will put a pic up of my gun attachment soon

I've got one set up with a straight torch, all you have to do is twist rather than swing the whole torch round

A good old heat and freeze technique used on this 50t breaker block used yesterday.....Frying tonight!

Buy a JCB (Atlas) breaker they said, it'll be fun they said!

Don't lay your breaker down for too long! This is a prime example of a breaker stored horizontal for 12+ months. Condensation damage at its best.

Out of intrest how should a breaker be left if left for long periods of time?

Out of curiosity what sort of costs are involved with repairing something as serious as that? Do you sell stands to store breakers in to prevent this?

Another Atlas copco, XT200 this one we had in a year ago with a 'leak'. Monoblock breakers are not good for your wallet!

Its always a bit of a gamble and no real time limits. A Plant gave me a brand new JCB breaker to look at last year with the same problem, nowhere near as bad as that but piston still had to be replaced. Try to store your breaker upright if you anticipate it laying there for long periods.

Out of curiosity what sort of costs are involved with repairing something as serious as that? Do you sell stands to store breakers in to prevent this?

It depends on breaker size and make to estimate a cost. Our Taurus brand for a 8t machine would be around £400 for a piston , whereas a Epiroc 8t would be around twice the price. Seal kit & labour on top.

Great advice pleased to say that my rebuilt Arrowhead is stored upright in my barn ready for action

I have an indeco hp150 and has spent most of its life on its side. I noticed a small leak last time I used it. What would be the rough cost to reseal and regas and new piston if needed please
