Just signed up for an Iveco 3l 210bhp short wheel base dually. 0.99% finance over 3 years. Couldn’t find what I wanted second hand, so went in to the local dealer and they are offering huge discount off list prices and good finance. I went for all the safety features and most of the comfort so hopefully it will be a nice place to spend the day whilst being able to legally tow 3500kg. I’ll report back after delivery.

That’ll be a mega tow bus! I was driving our old 3l daily tipper (only 140hp) with a big Ifor full of logs the other day and it was romping up hills - turned out it weighed 7100kg over a weighbridge. Best tow vehicles out there IMO.
Out of interest, what sort of money was it (pm if you’d prefer)?

I’ll try and answer all the questions at one go.
it is a low roof, short wheelbase van. Hi-Matic 8 speed auto.
3500kg van, 7000kg train weight.
£34k which is a huge amount of money for a van, but vehicles seem to have increased in cost out of all proportion over recent years. As well as max power I went for all the safety features, most of the comfort extras, twin rear wheels with diff lock, Tacho, etc, etc. Hopefully by the time I’ve worn this out I will be looking to retire and my business model of traveling the length and breadth of the country won’t work any more with only electric vehicles anyway.

nice, sounds exactly the same as my tipper. The autobox is lovely but they couldnt put a pto on it when I bought mine to run the tipper and hiab rams so had to have 2 electric ones. Did you they give you the 3 years free servicing as well ? As iveco use lorry dealers you can get it serviced 24x7 which is cool, took mine to an aquila dealer at 7pm picked up at 10pm!

Unfortunately didn't get the free servicing, but did get the extended warrenty, 3 years unlimited mileage.

Do you get a tacho fitted to pull 3.5t? I think you almost get away with it in a 4x4 as it's a specialist vehicle but a van is a no-no
