My front tooth has been absent for around 18months. I have a single tooth denture but my gagging reflex doesn’t like it. I just keep my mouth shut for photos now!!!!

The bricklayer sits and writes a detailed injury report to his insurance company:

I write because you require further information about my accident. In the injury report, under the heading "How the accident happened", I wrote "poor planning" as the cause of the accident.

As you demand a more complete explanation, I hope the following will suffice.

I work as a bricklayer. On the day of the accident, I worked alone on the roof of a new six-story building. When I finished my job, I had approx. 50 bricks to spare (approx. 110 kg).
Instead of carrying the bricks down by hand, I decided to lock them in a wooden box, using a pulley which happened to be placed on the roof.
After securing the rope on the ground, I went up onto the roof and loaded the bricks into the wooden box.
Then I went down again, loosened the rope, and held it tight to ensure a slow firing of the approx. 110 kg.

Notice that I listed 71kg as my weight in the injury report.

Because of the surprise that struck me when I suddenly eased from the ground, I couldn't think - I forgot to drop the rope. Without the need to say, I got crazy speed on the way up the house wall. At 3 storeys height, I hit the wooden box with bricks, which was on the way down. That explains the skull and collar fracture.

This slowed down the speed of my rapid ascent, but not much. Fortunately, before I reached the top, I managed to gather my thoughts, and managed to continue to hold on to the rope despite the pain.

The box of bricks hit the ground and the bottom of the box loosened. Without the bricks, the wooden box now weighed approx. 20 kg. I refer again to my weight listed in the injury notice.

As you may understand, I then quickly descended along the house wall again. At 3 storeys height, I hit the wooden box again, which was now on the way up. Hence the two broken ankles and wounds on the legs and lower body.

[Adsense2]

The crash with the wooden box slowed down the fall enough to mitigate the damage somewhat as I landed on the pile of bricks. Fortunately, I only cracked 3 vertebrae.

But I regret to announce that when I lay there in pain, in a pile of bricks and unable to rise, I looked up and saw the wooden box that hung 6 floors above me. I was so frightened that I couldn't think clearly - so I let go of the rope 😄
