its for an American couple, hes a retired pilot for a big airline, I met him the other day and had a nice chat finding out about his career, v interesting.
but was thinking coming home tonight, yeah its great and all fair play 👍 but he didnt have to go round meeting (even a few of) the people "thinking" about getting on the plane explaining what he will do and how a plane works , he didnt have to schedule his flights.....then reschedule everything last minute when its pissing down or someone decided not to get on, he didnt have to fix or service the fecking plane or deal with parts suppliers who let you down, he didnt have to run customer complaints département if someone had a issue with the fact he said it would take 6hrs but it only took 5 🙂 Bla bla bla you get the drift, we must be a pretty select breed who can keep this bloody lot going one decade after the other !

But it must have been a nightmare sitting by different pools, drinking different company-paid-for cocktails, knobbing different trolley-dolly’s week-in, week-out on the long-haul layovers.
You should really have a bit of sympathy for the poor old bugger…

I have just carried out a project along the access route for the trolley Dolly's from their car park to staff search and watching them all walk in all day makes me really think I should have been a pilot.

Fighter pilot carrying a missile or 50 cal cannon 💦😆
I love working in airports and it's great going airside. But without a shadow of a doubt the staff car park is best place to work. I had a lad with us from the airside team, he thought he was in for a s**t time working landside. After about half an hour he thought he had died and gone to heaven.

This digger is perfect for me 👌👌 Had it 2 years now and never regretted the choice. .
Slight communication error with the loader driver yesterday, luckily the job really is just round the corner, otherwise I'd have been shoveling quite a pile back out 😆 🤣 Defender didn't care of course👍💪

im not sure about the stereotype, is it really a thing - maybe yorkshire people are friendlier than most, nah deff not tight , at least my old man and his counterparts were all generous as you like, maybe less so with their time :)
although that said southerners are deff a thing, often a pita talkin about their financial status, in their pastel shades and drinkin shandies 🙂

I think it’s a thing that Yorkshire people are “more Yorkshire“ when outside of Yorkshire, or at least the ones I’ve worked with seem to be. But when I’ve been on holiday in Yorkshire I love the place, and people are just people wherever you go. Mind you when I was in Africa I noticed that Brits in general were much more British than at home. On the other hand, most Americans were like fish out of water without their walk-in GEC fridges.

Done this retaining wall job the last week retaining a higher yard which will eventually be the parking area for the house. Some big bits to get in the base but otherwise Wacker and grab did most of it including 2 sets of steps using some old granite gateposts.

Ridiculously nice work!
Are you pleased with the Wacker/grab setup?
