not at all ... understand perfectly .... our animals share an immense part of our lives, 24/7/365 and give their love constantly and unconditionally

Thoughts are with you,very,very hard to say goodbye to a much loved companion.

we have said our goodbyes to seven every one leaves a lot of sadness but also happy memorys we have the ashes of all of them so in a way they are still with us.
its a very personal subject most non dog owners would not understand at all.

We had to have our jack Russell put down last week. She had 15 years of love. Wasn't what I was expecting last week but I suppose you never do.

It's is heartbreaking when they are gone...but you know its the best thing for them not to suffer.

Mines been to work every day with me since November (when I've worked) the pub job I was told numerous times she shouldn't be on site, so I replied ill add an extra 25 to £30 a day for a dog walker.
Everyone loved her throwing the ball sticks and bringing food in for her

Don’t know about another one, the wife and I want the freedom to just go away when we want. Plus I’m a gnats off 65 and too slow to be chasing a puppy until it’s trained. Never say never, every time I see the RSPCA advert I get tempted to take one in and see if we can do better than the shits who mistreated them.

Sounds similar to us. It was hard to motivate her out of the house for a long while, then suddenly we did three longish walks in a week. The day after the last walk she went downhill just like that. Like you, pleased it wasn’t a long drawn out thing.

Unfortunately the RSPCA are their own worse enemy when it comes to rehoming animals. I know quite a few people who have been turned down for silly things like trying to take the dogs to work. They would rather it's locked in a cage and have a dog walker at lunch time than belong to farmers/ foresters / fencers.
I also detest them due to the way they have treated some people confiscating perfectly healthy gun dogs as they don't agree with field sports.

We took our other dog with us when we had the Jack Russell put to sleep so she could see that she'd gone and not just disappeared.

However the collie is missing her playmate. We have decided on another dog after much debate. So next week we will be a 2 dog family again
