Her conviction was eventual squashed.

From the article
It is nothing short of madness that the state machinery could be wielded against a teenage girl with Asperger’s syndrome who was in mourning, all because an Instagram post, seen by a handful of people, was deemed offensive by a police officer. The Kafkaesque absurdity of Russell’s trial and conviction shows that the state must never be trusted to decide what we can and cannot say.

Makes me want to have nothing to do with internet- literally just a Nokia 3310 and that'll do. Trouble is internet is so bloody handy🤦
Yeah im trying to work out how to get by with a phone that just texts and take photos and leave me alone to work but its difficult to see how it would work.

Ends up being a iPad/laptop with a dongle, thus ends up costing loads more than a iPhone! That then gets stolen out of the van while you’re not looking!!

I’d love to go back to a Nokia 3210, bomb proof , loads of signal and needs charging once a week - but I live on my phone & don’t even have a laptop or desktop anymore, only accounts get done on the laptop.

Turn your data connection off !
And restrict access to apps
I will not have 'net on my phone ... end of .. turned off at providers - simples
I can understand why ppl have it ... but it's not for me - if I want 'net access I have a 'puter for that

SIL has his welded to his hand - constantly - often arrives to pick up the kids and he's sat in the car outside for 15-20 min.s some evenings .. bloody annoying TBH after a 'long shift' .. very often have to go out and interrupt him, so we can have our tea .

Pam has an old push button Nokia and will not have a touch screen - end of - takes pix, gets texts and makes calls - 's all she wants of a phone
still doesn't prevent your movements being 'tracked' but does keep a lot of info (more) private.

have a second basic unit to use and if you need 'better', swap your SIM into your usual unit, as needed only.;)
bit of a faff, but achieves what you want .. I'd bet the swaps become less and less frequent

My work phone is a basic Nokia. Calls and texts, will accept pics but not great quality. If required I get pics emailed that I can deal with on my personal iPhone.
