Had a few lads at rugby who were detectives etc one ex royal marine mp played number 8, was legendary gangster rd this way who got blasted by shotguns by 4 guys in a car many years ago in marple. He fancied himself a handy fighter and offered this copper a no grudge bare knuckle fight in a ring etc never happened as he got sorted but we need more coppers criminals respect not 16 year old 7 stone bean poles

Yep but ultimately boils down to training. You have to train under pressure if you've not been smacked in the head regardless of size you won't like it and most will momentarily freeze.
Training is key size plays a part because mass counts but under pressure pain is your friend. Train hard fight easy.

As a lad I did afew evenings with the police riot training - we were the hooligans and they fended us off, was a good laugh we got to throw bricks at them etc, but when they broke formation and charged us we quickly legged it!!

policing fell apart when they dropped the height and weight requirements ... back then couldn't recruit, so that happened ... needs bringing back so we get some 'proper coppers' .. and weed out the weeds

Been doing a lot of work in London recently, seen a fair few coppers who look like they couldn’t take on someone's aged Nanna! Look like they'd get Ided for a can of RedBull and they'd get blown away by a stiff breeze ffs
Mind you I once got put in an armlock by a small woman DCI in her 40s (No, I wasn't being arrested
) and bloody hell she could have snapped my (ape sized ) arm if she'd wanted so training, and the right attitude, clearly goes a long way!
Years ago I was in a weatherspoons (I know, get what you deserve) and this pissed up 18-19 year old starts on me the moment I walk through the doors! Hadn't even taken my coat off
. I catch hold of his lapels, pick him up and sort of flick him onto the floor where I hold onto his wrists and kneel on his chest until the bouncers take over. 5 minutes later we're sat down having a drink, big commotion in the doorway, 4 coppers are struggling to get cuffs on this scrote! Guess they didn't have 'the attitude '
