what size pins other wise?
buy a 3M bar of EN10 BDMS (bright drawn mild steel ) from a stock holder and cut as required - major savings to be had
Yes thought they'd be hardened. Druid suggested that I buy some bright bar and cut that to size, would i be at a significant disadvantage doing this for all the pins at the end of the dipper and pins mounted on the bucket?
Hardened for bushes and bright for bucket pins
Does bucket pins include the ones that hold the quickhitch on to the dipper and crowd Ram on the dipper?
By fixed do you mean where one end has a second hole and is then bolted into position so the pin can't rotate? Not fixed atm but wouldn't be a hard job to make the new ones fixed if so.suitability depends on whether the pins are fixed or mobile .... the EN10'll last a significant amount of time in both .. better if fixed

Ideal. I'll be making the ones on the JCB fixed when its time to replace them then.yep ... sure is ... only one wear/pivot point to grease
It's removable Badger .... nut welded to pin end and the rings is on a bolt with a lock nut .... carries my hoses for my VA-r when its on, etc. and when it's not they're rarely at risk ...... also have another pair further up the dipper to route the plumbing through ... have to be large enough to get a couple of lines through (and FF QCs)

.... @Mogman 's idea originally, on his selector grab .... I just modified it a bit to suit my needs and stuck 'em on the pins as that's where everything articulates around
