do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
Historically, sea links meant that the West Country and Wales had close ties with the Breton region as it was actually easier to get to there than other places in England.

Retail around £50-60 plus VAT. I found an eBAy store selling a load cheap (unbranded). They all have almost unnoticeable chips at the very edge of the glass. I reckon they are seconds, and for £20 plus VAT each I bought all thirty. They draw 2a each and the flood beam is the best I've seen. No striping or chequering.
lifetime supply, that's the way to go about things! 👍
I've had all sorts of led lights over the years and the best value/most used of the lot was a dirt cheap 18 inch bar that did a year or so on the front of 1 defender then 4 years over the back door of a 110 van body. Used all the time for reversing, loading trailers and lighting up the barn/jobs/campsites.
The best quality I've got/had is the square durite on the boom of the digger with a built in switch 👍 👍

And that'd work OK between a 1.5 and a micro? Can't see me having a 2.7 any time in the near future.
Currently I've got a set of buckets for both machines, which are fairly interchangeable but no real benefit in doing so, and rakes, ripper tooth and the auger which do get shared between machines. 👍

Why would you have a manual hitch on a Tiltrotator like having a porche with a strimmer engine in it.
For the top hitch, if your machine doesn’t have hydraulic hitch lines ran to it and you don’t intended to drop the tilty much(which most folk don’t) then to save abit of hassle you may as well have a manual top hitch , on non ecoil you need to get off anyway.
My top hitch seizes on quite often due to lack of use!

Manufacturers will want to use s40 for a 2.7t machine unfortunately. Luckily you can still get people like @CPS to make one to suit.

I’ve run 30mm pins under my e27 for getting on five years and never broken one. It’s plenty.

I really rate s30 for sharing attachments and a tiltrotator between 1.9 and 2.7t machines.
Yeah. The older Kubota kx61-3 ran on 30mm pins anyway. Does the structure of S30 buckets deminish though. Is it like running 2ton buckets on a 2.8t?

I am talking about the bottom hitch. My Engcon is direct mount. Haven’t taken it off once!! I am guessing that the hitch mechanism would be similarly if used on a top hitch.
All will be clear with some pics!!

No, s30 is just the hitch dimensions. You can have any bucket you like under it if the company will build you it, same as normal buckets

‘Genuine’ tilty bucket stock covers both machines anyhow. I have two genuine steelwrist s30 grading buckets, one for the 1.9t and one larger one for the 2.7t. The 300mm cable bucket will run on either, it’s incredibly light.

I have a set of s30’ ‘2t’ shell buckets from BMC that fit the 1.9 t direct or under the tilty on the 2.7t. If I go s30 for the micro, doubtless these ‘micro shell’ buckets will transpire to be ideal under the tilty on the 1.9t. All much like I used to do with my tilt hitch.

Realistically though, you only ever really use the grading bucket or the cable bucket under the tilty unless digging footings or bulking out and for some reason you don’t take the tilty off.

It’s still a tiltrotator. If my cheap secondhand tilty had had a manual hitch I guess I’d have lived with it.

I do far prefer a hydraulic hitch top and bottom though!

Ive only had tilty off once in 500 odd hours for a big tree stump, that was before the ripper tooth arrived so prob would have left it on having had that, but would still have top hitch on this setup if doing it again as it all feels light and stable on s40 , hydraulic or manual doesn't really matter I suppose, engcon were doing a "free" top hitch offer at the time so made it easier decision, and the extra reach is handy, if the machine can handle it the more reach the better imho, tilty work is working from the one spot a lot and every cm help.
I thought the steelwrist buckets were great and the engcon grader is very decent too, didnt really like having a bolt on cutting edge on it, but im about to turn it round so maybe not a bad thing.
I have a proper 300mm trenching bucket arriving soon :)

If i used the 2 smaller machines much id deff go s30 between the 2 like others as its a no brainer to share kit

Anyone know the weight of a S30 manual hitch out of interest?
S type, what do you need to know😁

About 30 years ago some bright spark or pissed of Swedish guy had enough of mixed matched buckets and different pin dimensions for different machines and came up with the S type standard.

"Symmetrical coupler" to give ut its proper name. Basically means it can be used in reverse as well.

S30 150 right up to S120 (i think)

There are a few standards in the UK, for instance S30 150, S40 240, and S50 would be none UK standards.... still some out there but not a standard as such.

S30 would go up to about 2 7 ton max, S40 from about 2.5 to 6.5 ton.
I always ask the question of what machines do you run if you are asking about 2.7 ton for instance. If your biggest machine is 2.7 ton or so then id say go S30 and use the attachments between your smaller machines also.
If you run say a 2.5 and 5-6 ton machine id say go S40, attachments such as rippers etc can be shared then.

We started building S type couplers in 2015, at the time no one was offering a twin locking S coupler so we designed and built the T-LOCK coupler.
We build them from S30 to S70, and we are a small business so they are mostly built to order.... hence lead times can be slightly longer than id like.

We have improved them over the last 9 years, and the latest S30 like @doobin Has is a full hardox body purely for strength.

I am abit excited to about our next development of the S coupler and i will give you all a preview in the next few weeks😁
